Just had an email from Gameplay.com telling me that the release date for Half Life 2 has been changed to Sep 24 2004

Thats 248 days until release!!!

I guess they must be completly re-making that game! Shame nVidia got so upset about their performance, that they forced a re-work of the GFX Engine to make nVidia GPU's perform better.

Where did you hear of this hacker getting arrested in san fransisco? If you're thinking about that guy who got all of his computers and stuff taken and he posted it on his site, you're wrong. He didn't hack the code.

Think about it. Why would valve put their source code on a network anyways? Anyone knows that you keep that kind of stuff offline. IMO, I think it was never going to be released in 2003, and I think it was just a way to get attention to valve. Has anyone taken into consideration what the anon readme said? That guy in physicstown, kill him and the door still gets shot? IT'S TRUE. I have seen it myself.

Yeah, I want my HL2 also. I despise nVidia for their whining, and they should just get over the fact that their hardware can't keep up and they can fix it after the release. Plus, their cards are 5|-|1T anyways. Their :dead: to me.

Not totaly true. nVidia makes good cards they just dont suport as much effects for furture games. My Geforce 4 mx 440 64mb did as much FPS in most of my games as my 9800 pro aiw ATI 128mb card. As for uploading the source to a network is just complety dumb.

they had to change the whole engine, or maybe they invented this unfortunate event so they

i think there will be some tough competition for hl2.... far cry, stalker. it's going to be quite a year for fps...

I downloaded this and it seemed like an alpha version of halflife2...but it was whacked!! nothing finished..menus...etc.
You could only load your own server and select a`map to play.
Maps wheren't finished eather.

anyone seen this before too?
it was about 1.5 gigs

They arent remaking the game, they are redoing key parts of the source code because of what happend when ati leaked it

ATI didt leak it... And i dont think anyone said the hole game.. They keep redoing it due to it being leaked and due to nvida bitching about it having no suport for there cards...

It was their fault for the game getting leaked. It had NOTHING to do with ATI. They left the source so unprotected that it looked like that Valve was looking for it to get stolen.

Question: will the coupon that i got from buying my ATI graphics card allow me to play HL2 online? or is it only for single player?
