I would like to add some tweaks that are simple and help alot and also can help your computer last longer. I will talk about how to save alot of memory and making your computer run alot faster. This is for New comers, Newbies, and for people that are just starting tweaking. I will add on to it later and put more stuff on. Ill also edit this in the morning to make it a little more understandable.

1. Indexing service.
Indexing service logs the files and the information of the file for faster searching. This is totaly pointless and you dont need it at all. Turning this off can stop lag spikes in games and help you computer run ALOT better. Double click My Computer then right click on your hard drive, Click properties and uncheck Allow Indexing service.

2. disableing hibernation.
Doing this can save how much ram you have. exmple 512mb ram can save you 512mb on your harddrive by doing this. Even if you dont use hibernation it can still be using up drive space. Double click My Computer go to Control panel. Click power options, then click the tab Hibernate. Make sure Enble hibernation is unchecked.

3. Compression
This can slow your computer down just a little but is worth it cause it can save you up to a few gigs of space. Double click My Computer then right click on your harddrive default is C: then go to properties and check Compress Drive to save disk space.

4. Turning off hard drive after 15 mins or more.
This can help your harddrive last alot longer if you run your computer over night or just run it alot when your not using it. Double click My Computer then click Control Panel, Click Power Options. Under the Power Schemes tab set Turn off hard disks to 15 mins or more.

5. Disk Cleanup
This can clean up your harddrive and get rid of your temp files. Click start go to All Programs then Accessories. Go to system tools and click Disk Cleanup. It will start compressing your old files this can take along time depending if you have ever used Disk Cleanup before. Once its done compressing all the files a menu will show up. Check all the boxs and then click ok. It will ask you if you want to perform these actions. Click yes and it will start deleting files you dont need.

6. Disk Defragmenter
This can make your computer perform better. It dose this by moving the files to the out side of the harddrive or the inside of the harddrive depending on how much you use those files. Clcik start go to All Programs then Accessories. Go to system tools and click Disk Defragmenter. Click Defragment and it will start. When it finishs you can just close it.

7. Geting rid of old System Restore files.
This can free up a few gigs on your hard drive. Only do this if you are sure you wont use the old System Restore files. I do this once in a while but not to much. About once a month should do it. Double click My Computer, Click Control Panel. Click System click the tab that says System Restore. Check the box that says Turn off System Restore click Apply. It will ask you are you sure you want to delet all system restore points. Click yes. It will seem to freeze just give it a min or 2. Once its done freezing uncheck Turn off System Restore. It is recommanded that you keep this on cause once in a blue moon you will use it.

8. Visual Effects
Turning off the fading visual effects can make your start menu show up alot faster. Double click My Computer, click Control Panel. Click System then click the Advanced tab. Click settings under Performance. Uncheck Fade or slide menus into view. Fade or slide ToolTips into view. Fade out menu items after clicking. You can uncheck more and it will help it perform better but these settings are best if you want good visual effects and good performance.

Remember the days when overclockers would submerge their pc's entirely in their aquarium? I miss those days.

Get a new one or you can over clock it... When you start your computer up go into your bios and change the CPU clock a little higher dont go up in big chuncks or you will fry it... Get 3Dmark 2003 and run the CPU test on that if it closes randomly then turn down the clock on the CPU or if anything seems weird about it...If nothing then move it up again and try 3Dmark 2003 again.... Keep doing this tell it crashs or something weird happens in the test...Most likey it will close first or restart your computer...

The bios has "Change CPU Clock" but no options to actually "up" the speed.

highlight Change CPU Clock and hit enter... It should take you into another menu... If not then you have to get a edited Bios and flash your bios...
