I don't know if any of you guys know, but there are some hacks for halo that don't steal you cd-key and sorta actually work. Basically map hacks that make walls transarent and such. They are easy as hell to do and the game is so stupid that it doesn't even check to see if you map file is that same as the server's. Check out the pics.

The spiked models remind me of Texploit for BF 1942.
Looks like it would be usefull to locate enemy's, post them here if you can.

I was able to do all this stuff with some halo modding tools, the problem is that the only way that I could make it easy for people to use without posting a long list of instructions is by just posting my hacked map files. They are kinda big, even compressed, plus its part of the game, so does that count as warez and break the rules or something?

All U Need to do is use ppf-o-matic studio and make ppf patches for bitmaps and bloodgulch. then people can use ppf o matic to install and the files wont be over 4mb:bandit:

Ok, thanks to mafiafan's suggestion I have made a hack patch for the map bloodgulch. This hack includes:
-Transparent red/blue bases and transparent trees and bushes
-Spiked models similar to texploit for bf1942 or the old cs spiked models
-Giant grenades and rockets so you can see them coming easier (also cause they look damn funny :))
-Transparent fuelrod gun and rocket launcher firstperson models so that they no longer block 1/3 of your view when you use them
-i also put a big spike on top of the flags for ctf games and made the sniper rifle barrel really long but for some reason they don't show up most of the time.
*edit* I forgot to mention that i also added a sniper zoom to the pistol :p
See the 1st post in this thread for some screenshot examples.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. MAKE A BACKUP OF BLOODGULCH.MAP IN THE MAPS DIRECTORY OF YOUR HALO DIRECTORY!!!
2. Download Helpful Halo Hacking Tool from the halomods.com site here: http://files.halomods.com/download.php?id=17
3. Extract it to some directory.
4. Download my patch bloodgulch_hack.zip and extract it to the same directory.
5. Run HaloPatch.1.3.exe
6. Click the button next to "Maps Directory" and choose your halo maps directory (by default C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS\)
7. Click the button next to "Mods Directory" and choose the directory where you put the halo hacking tool and my patch (this directory should contain the file bloodgulch.ppf)
8. Check the "Show all mods box" and the "No backup" box (because you made a backup in step 1, right!!!)
9. Click on bloodgulch.map in the maps list on the left.
10. Click on bloodgulch.ppf which should have appeared in the mods list on the right.
11. Click the "Add selected" button.
12. Click the "Apply Patch(es)" button on the bottom left.
13. Find a bloodgulch game online and be a cheating bastard!!
If you get any errors, restore the backup you made of bloodgulch.map and try again.
Please post any comments/questions/problems/suggestions/rants you may feel the need to post about this hack. I may do more maps later if people like it.

Unfortunately no, what i did involves no coding and i have little experience in coding. Did the map hack work for you? I want to know if it works for people and what they think of it!

Um....I have played around with HaloMapTools, but have not quite figured it out yet. I have gmax, and I think that would be able to do the models, but I havent quite been able to find a tutorial for hacking (or modding) a map with it. could you please just post the basics?

Really, if I just knew exactally whcih offsets were changed in the recently posted blood bultch file, I could figure it out by myself by comparing it to the original in my backup folder. that would work too.

hey, vondutch, just a thought: Maybe you could copy my post with instructions and put it in a text file to include in the hack you uploaded (or i could do it). Because if people just download the bloodgulch_hack.zip then they're gonna have no idea how to use it.

the models are all in the map files and are in wavefront (.obj) format. I extracted them from the map file and modified them in milkshape3d. Goto www.halomods.com and look at their tutorial for editing halo models, it is very good and thats how i learned!

I dont think he stretched most of the models. he just made a single point really, REALLY high up
EDIT: it seems that what I said was quite vague. I meant that he added a point onto each model very high up, making those floating posts above their heads

Personally, I have modded all my maps with a 8x zoom pistol, a totally RUINED alpha for my active cameo distortion (makes it like the radeon 9200, all one color) (this can be done by remaking your bitmaps/rasterizer/active cameo distorion bitmap entirely white. I love it. Also, I made all my passenger seats 3rd person. I undid the map hack shown here, as the spiked heads really take away from the decor and make playing not as much fun to me. I like changes like those I mentioned above more.
also, I found that there is a HUGE dissadvantage with the available mod:the grenades are huge. you cant tell if one is armed or not if a bunch of people recently died. that makes life harder.

I could make more only problem is I dont know how to make them into patchs like polyvinyl did... I made color models in mine and add zoom to the pistols as well for all other maps...

and get rid of those crap alphas for your zooms. it really helps!!

.ppf patches can be made using a tool found at http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=8&sid=ffa8c1fc1b68a8691d597da0fd40f6f2
to make .ppf files. I have little time, and have neither downloaded the program or the time or patience to actually make the files. Perhaps someday...
for now, though, I will describe what I did to hack my files.
open up your file in halo map tools, version 3 (found at halomods.com). first, lets edit the bitmaps. visit the first link on this post, and get your alphas for the zooms. now expand the 'bitmaps' section, and go to ui/hud/bitmaps/pistol/pistol_scope_mask. inject your new pistol mask here by clicking on the '1- 521-512', and clicking inject, then your new file. It might ask you if you want to update size for this or all the other injections in this tut, and whenever you see it, click 'no'. It should now say 'texture successfully injected' if instead of the resize querry, you see another, noting that the new one is smaller, just click 'ok'. now go to ui/hud/bitmaps/sniper/sniper_mask2. inject your new mask for the sniper rifle. that cleared up the blurrniss in the zoom scope. now, still in bitmaps, go to rasterizer/active cameo distortion. click on the '1-32-32', and save your texture somewhere. go into photoshop with it, and make it entirely white. save it as a 8-8-8-8 type file when prompted. dont change anything else. inject it over the previous one. now, anyone invisible, will be a blob simillar to the colors around it, but much much less invisible. anyone with a card that does not show distortions for active cameo, it probabally didnt do anything at all. now, leave the world of bitmaps, and go to vehicles. this is but a personal preference, but I chose warthog, and clicked on seat 1, the second option, and checked the 'third person view'. then i repeated it for the rl hog, and the tank (seats 1-4). now, go to your weapons. choose the pistol, and make your zoom levels 2, and your max zoom 8. repeat with the rocket launcher. any weapons which already have zoom cant go past that. for everything else, we can go up to about 40, and then it will just zoom out for you. so, for all the other weapons, zoom levels is how many levels there are, min zoom is the 1st level and max zoom is the last one. dont set max zoom to above 50, as when I set it there, it started doing the 'zoom out, and make you look around really slow till you finish the zoom' thing. it really pisses me off. whatever. thats what I have done. later, when I find out exactally what polyvinil did, I will explain how to hack the bases.

I changed the textures with bright red and blue colors... I was trying to attach a blue and red lights to the models by teams but couldt figure how or if you could... I dont think you can...

I have an idea for the ppf files. perhaps, could we just put all the files in one .rar file, without compression, and then put the modded ones in another, and make a ppf of that? the resultant ppf file would be only like 100kB. would the order matter or something?
EDIT: stunnax: sorry you got flamed about that. I dont think that was fair...on a cheating forum of all places! By the way, it was your ideas and stuff that got me off to finding my own way past it. thanks.
EDIT AGAIN: I was looking around in HMT3, and what if we DELETED the zoom mask for pistol and sniper? would we be able to zoom as much as we wanted? or would we just get another exception error?

another where i mention everything somewhere here... there are a ton of cheats i know of for halo... and yes im pretty sure auto aim can be accomplished, i learned becuz i did it to the xbox version way b4 halopc came out. only thing is, is its harder to do on pc cuz there is no auto aim for this version. but yo if u want u can always put homing on ur bullets for when u host.
and wuts the point of all the tuts on using HMT? i mean if ur smart enough to be here then ur smart enough to figure out how basic hmt is... i mean halo is hex editing no more.

halo map files are just pretty much zip files and HMT breaks it into parts... I wanna get the mod chip for my x-box so i can make cheats for games as well only problem is I cant play x-box live with the cheats :-(... If you delet the mask there will be no texture for the pistol... You have to edit the bitmap to make more zooms for the pistol..

You have to have the mod chip to boot from another OS dont you? also I thot its detected if you run games from your harddrive or dose it just work like a save and inject its self when you load a game? My knowlage here is limited in this area, but I think I can help: xbox live detects if you have a mod chip ACTIVE or if you have linux installed using the mechassult exploit. So, DONT use the mechassult exploit. use a new modchip. you can get one for 60 bucks that will auto disconnect you if you try to go on xbox live with it on. get that. I dont have a modchip, as the xbox in our house is my little brother's, and he wont let me get one.
back on the 'deleting the mask' subject, I open the xml files, and see references to the stuff I want to delete. perhaps, if we delete those references, as well as the actual files, and then rebuild the file, it will act like if you have the FRG zoomed (remove hud, no zoom mask, just target rectuile) or any other weapon. anyone got any ideas? in the meantime, I will work on this.
also, for halo 1, you dont need the modchip active to play modded halo maps. you can just go in, copy over your cache files, and turn your chip off.
the mechassult exploit is where you use mechassult to install lunux off a reomvable drive.

Hey there. I haven't checked this thread in a while cause i thought it was dead but now i guess its not. The way I made the bases transparent (and the way to make just about anything transparent in halo is to copy the hex meta value (or offset or whatever the hell it is) for 'shader model\weapons\needler\shaders\needler luminous' and paste it into the shader for what you want transparent.
For example, to make the bases transparent in bloodgulch, I pasted the value for 'shader model\weapons\needler\shaders\needler luminous' (which happens to be CBC9A4 for bloodgulch) into the box for lots of the items in the 'shader environment' group (levels\b30\shaders\metal flat generic, levels\b30\shaders\metal panels ext unearthed, etc...) which is just stuff like walls. It makes everything a sort of pink transparent. This can be applied to other levels just as easily. Just remember that the offset is not CBC9A4 for other maps and you have to look it up yourself.
Also, munkeegutz, I've been trying to find a way to disable active camo for a while and I tried your method and it doesn't seem to work at all. The texture has an RGB channel and an alpha channel. Should i make the RGB and the alpha white, or just the RGB? Also, I get the message about the file size being too small whenever i inject the texture. I have to say 'ok' or the texture won't inject and when I do, The camo in the game is still the same as it was before. Can you give me any help?

OK. First, if you dont have a card that does active cameo refraction, it just wont work. If you do, read on. what I did was I just went into photoshop with the active cameo distortion, and made my brush white and 250 pixel diameter (just so i can make it white in one click) I did nothing to anything else (other than save it, in 8-8-8-8 format. I injected the smaller texture, and clicked ok. Also, as stuntaxx mentioned, you can just swap the MC shader with the needler cryslo and your guys will be quite visible (I havent tested this)
if you have a older card (like a gf4, NOT MX), you can use the active cameo fix, findable in www.gearboxsoftware.com forums, under the technical section. Then apply my trick. if your card does not support pixel shaders, then nothing will really help. youre stuck with invisible enemies, unless stuntaxx'es method solves that one.

nope. Nav points are laid over the other parts at the end of the rendering process, independent of everything. if the gametype says theyre not there, theyre not there. no can do. If there were more that I knew of, I would help and hack more, but right now, I am too busy learningg c++ and figuring out how to do a ut2k4 aimbot. Someday, I will release my version of the map, as a ppf, if I ever go about downloading the ppf studio program.

...The demo map file is different from the original, i think. thats why you cant use ghosts.
just use the direct 3d loader in the downloads section.
when I get home, I might upload a ppf, but I have been saying that to myself for the last 1-2 weeks...*sigh* school sucks.

okok hit me up i have see thru maps for every map. for those who wanna do it the easy way u can always goto transparent shaders and get the meta for vehicles\warthog\shaders\warthog chain gun_blur, which is just clear grey.
or u can hit me up for any ppf for the maps i custom made with Real Glass injected into maps without glass.most maps do not have a real glass shader in them like chill out and direlect have which in my oppionion are the best besides glass from pelican and life pod. i also have meta files for those who want to inject glass meta over another shader for any map. where do i upload my hacks?
more hacks u can make are "anti camo" by swaping cyborg armor shield with tha needler shit under glass shaders. or u can just extract the bitmap rasterizer\active camouflage distortion and photo shop it so that it ****s the camo look up.

another good hack is my light hack by puttin (i think granade flash) on cyborg flashlight or assalt riffle muzzle flash. After that get plugin for hmt3 to edit the lights to certain colors. this is usfull to on those fools who snipe or pistol along the cliffs. Eliminates the use of inf flashlight. i made mine very bright yellow when off and bright red when turned on.
i got plenty more hacks i will share i just gotta remember em, its been a wile since ive modded... and the nav points i think will be pretty hard to do but have an idea how it would be done. u will need to be very good in hexing. u take meta out of flags/navs and inject into cyborg.

great stuff.
I, personally, use the photoshop way for active cameo.
however, I am going to withdraw from the halo cheating community very, very soon, as i try out for a high skill clan (not saying which), and will from then on, play it clean...as I do most of the time anyways
I also like the way the wallhack was done in the released version, and thats what ill stick too...again, when I actually use it...
the navpoint idea is great. You (stunnax), should be able to do it, but I cant really be useful, as the only times I have extracted and rebuilt a map (about 6 now), I have recieved a big mr. exception.
Idea for that though: in most ctf games, they have a navpoint on the flag. take a look there.

There might be a way to make a Aimbot..Cos,
There is a custom map Not alone...
It has bots in it (they are invisible and always hits u. Even whit Assaultrifle from 1km.
Maybe u should try to find out cos I have no experiense for halomodding or Hacking.
