I would think not because Halo doesn't store your key in the form you type it in when you install the game. It stores it in the registry in an encrypted form in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Halo\DigitalProductID which is just a long hex string. If you want to swap keys, then you either have to reinstall the game and type in a new one or take the registry entry from a computer where the game was installed with another legit key. (which is what the ass in the "REAL Halo multiplayer hack!" thread tried to do with his fake cheat program.)

If there is a smart programmer out there, they might be able to write a program that encodes a cd key and puts it in your registry, but i imagine that micro$oft put some effort into making the encryption secure.

Well, I know that if you want to play on a "LAN" server (or a server that has the "sv_public 0" instead of "sv_public True") then all you would have to do is merge the following to your registry removing both the DigitalProductID and the PID...

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Halo]
"PID"=""
"DigitalProductID"=hex:

Now you should be able to play!!!
