Un-Official MUproxy Guide

MuProxy Created by Assad

1. Download MU proxy here:

http://www.mpcheatz.de/mpc/forum/attachment.php?postid=292687

Then extract it (it doesnt matter where)

2. Go to your hosts file:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\hosts If you have WinXP

C:\WINDOWS\hosts if you have win95 or 98

Note: Change C:\ To the drive windows is installed on.
Note: If you can't find the hosts file go to [Start>Search>For Files or Folders](ON XP)[Start>Find>Files or Folders](ON 95/98)and type in "hosts" and check your folder settings to make sure you can see all hidden files.

2. Open the hosts file with notepad.

Depending on the Operating system you have it will look like this:

For WindowsXP

# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

127.0.0.1 localhost

For Windows 95/98

127.0.0.1 localhost

3.What you have to do now is find your IPadress and put it into the hoosts file. To find you IPadress in Windows XP go to Command Prompt [Start>Accesories>Command Prompt] and type IPconfig then enter. In Windows 95/98 go to Start>Run and type winipcfg.

4.Once you have your IPadress go back to the hosts file and make a new line in it put your IP adress a space then connect.muonline.com so it looks like this:

123.456.789.10 connect.muonline.com

Note: 123.456.789.10 will be the IPadress you got from the last step.

Your hosts file should look like this:

On Windows XP

Save the file and close it.

5. Go to the folder you extracted MUproxy to and run MUproxy.bat. Wait a few moments and this shouls show up on it:

44405 44405 218.153.120.211

If it does then close the window and proceed to the next step.

If it doesn't give the numbers go back and make sure you followed the steps correctly.

If it closes automaticly you need JAVA, follow this link and download/install it:

6. Now that MUproxy is working you have to configure it properly, right click MUproxy.bat it should look like this:

Change the 50 in "-hitcount 50" to 4, if you leave it at a high number it will look like you are cheating and you WILL BE BANNED. As you play the game you can increase the number in incriments of 1 but if items don't fall while you're using it you have it set to high.

FAQ

Q: I want to go straight and stop cheating how do I turn off the hack?
A: Edit the hosts file and remove the line you put in in step 4 above.

Q: I want to still use it but just stop cheating for now, how do I do that?
A: Go to the hosts file and put # in front of thre line you put in in step 4 above, when you want to use MUproxy again remove the #.

Q: Help me! I am killing a lot of monsters but no items are falling.
A: Go to step 6 above.

Q: Help me I am a wizard/elf and I am having trouble with MUproxy!
A: MUproxy is aimed more at Dark Knights in a way. Wizards magic doesn't work with MUproxy and for elves arrows are used up in a few seconds.

Q: I have tried all of the above and still it doesn't work for me, can you help?
A: Try everything again, MUproxy should work on all computers in theory but maybe it doesnt work on yours don't post for help because it won't get you anywhere, I'd only post if you have something to say other then whats already been said (ie. not help but bugs or somehting)

Q: I right clicked muproxy.bat for step 6 but nothing happened. just a little bar came up.

Tried Everything again and again. Some big problem like:
1. i am using Win98Se, bt my host.sam file is located in C:/windows. And the file is the same as what is posted here, bt it suppose to be WinXp's host.sam file. Tried to create another in the C:/Windows/hosts, bt it also fail.

Wondering izzit just me, or many others out there ?

Thanks for being one of the only people to post something inteligent but I don't know the answer to this question only because i've never been on a private server. However,if I was you i would edit MUproxy.bat and from there change the IP in it to the IP of the private server.

muproxy shows many hits on my computer, but on my friend's computer it only shows 1 hit. The difference is that although we both take 1 hit to kill a E skeleton, mine dies around 1 second later. 1 second is not much, but on harder mobs this "delay" might pose a bigger problem... anyone knows how to fix this?

raising the hit speed? meaning making the hitcount higher? that doesn't work... i am hitting multiple hits instead of doing 1 hit. i'll try to explain.... when i attack a monster, it shows multiple dmg done to the monster. however on my friend's computer, it only shows one dmg done to the monster. and his monster dies slightly faster than mine, cos his 1 dmg is actually 50 hits. (we set hitcount to 50)

I added the string of codes to my hosts file.. i get the correct numbers when i select the MUproxy.bat file(44405 44405 218.153.120.211) but the multi hack does not work.. i still attack at the same speed..

When i close the Muproxy.bat dos window.. Is there suppose to be a windows cannot shut down this program automatically warning?

Try maybe raising the numbers in the .bat, are you closing the bat and then runing the game or runing the game with the bat still open?

Thats the only window i get, which stays open. I then try to run MU as normal (right thing to do?) and i get failed to connect at first screen where options is, right before NProtect usually starts.

Any ideas please?

forgot to mention, i'm using a router, so went to whatsmyip.com to get my external ip address for the hosts file, this right thing to do?

Simon1501 thank for not following the instructuions, now tomake it work you simply have to follow them. In cae you dont know what you did wrong you went to that site for your IP when i told you to get it through windows.

I did everything right I got my ip form the CMD I edited the host file and I left it MUporxy running when I tried to connect but it just saids "failed to connect" "EDIT: NVM I got it working thanks for the hack"

ok, well. Game is working now, both with and without the proxy, no clue what I did wrong before, but must of been something.
Problem I have now is that i'm still killing at exactly the same speed, i've tried various settings from the suggested 4, all the way upto 500, no change. Have I managed to mess it up again? :(

Simon you still have it set a bit (1 or 2) too high for item drops, try lowering it to a 2 or 1 and see what happens. It depends on your level and weapons so every few levels or wepon upgrade try rasing it. What I do is set it around 10 and go training on harder monsters where nobody is then I set it to 3 and go item hunting.

You won't get banned if you donm't get caught. If you set it to 50 and kill where people can see you you might so just keep it safe and you'll be fine.

I don't know what's wrong with the "exeption in th..."

Are you a DW? It only works for weapon hits, not magic, skill and arrows it just wastes. It might not one histt kill but maybe 5 hit kill or something, when you hit a monster does it hit multiple times (do you see numbers come up 5 at a time)?

You probably messed up your hosts file and they're detecting you're cheating. Try the hosts part again.

Ok, i just started 2 days ago on this Forum, an for those who don't know...Monsters don't drop items or zen when your hitcounter is above 5 or in other words the chance to gain an item or zen is not that high when you have an high hit-rate.

And something for the people that are using a router:

You have to type in your private IP-Adress in most cases its like 192.168.0.X or something. Now you can start the Proxy and hack through MU

Ive done everything he said to do and it will not work. Am i supposed to have a Nprotect disabler? That is where it stops going through for me. I hit connect on the Mu and the Nprotect freezes and it doesn't go through. It jus says Resolving then takes like 1 minute to go to connecting. Then it cloes and MU opens but is just a blank screen.

Edit:Ok now i tried it and it worked. I had the .bat file open while i played mu and Nprotect didnt freeze, but it didnt work i hit regular speed. I will increase the number and come back and let ya know.
Edit: still dont work :( It dont like ME.

Hi,I'm using Windows ME as my OS and I've followed all the instructions told.I tried using the MUproxy from this forum and v1.1,it still loads perfectly but in the game it doesn't works.I've changed the hit count from 1-500 but still attacking @ a normal speed,is there any wrong done here? Any help please~

i got this message... when i click the .bat file. i think everything is running ok but there is no 1 hit hack. i tried many times i try over and over again. its the same thing. :( does anyone have the same problem? i need help... ill be very appreciate! :D

Before u do anything right clik hosts the normal file not the notepad one and clik properties and untick the *READ-ONLY* thing than press ok.

alrite in the host file wen u save it it becomes a notepad save file so instead delete that than start again.

Then wen u do the

-IP- connect.muonline.com

this time clik SAVE AS and under the *Save as Type* clik all files then save over hosts

should work i guess worked for me

I used it yesterday and it just worked fine...hitcounter was 100
and no message appeared.

Its just workin fine and there are no blocks no Nprotect and no messages...maybe i have just more luck than the others :classic:

erm guys with the connection rpoblem i tell u all something to learn...
at first when i run command prompt and type IPconfig to search for my ip...
it doesnt work... another way is to logon to the irc system ,join any channel and right click and "WhoIs" yourself
go main channel and there u will see your current ip address
that should b the corret ip and u just change all the xxx-xxx-xxx- to xxx.xxx.xxx.xx
then make sure in front got no "#"
leave the bat open after saving cahnges and connect to Mu
it should work just fine... refer to earlier postds for the javascript link...

It does that when you did not enterd the right ip,go to start/exec and typ ipconfig and then the ip you see there,put that in the hosts file.

.sam is for sample...ther should be another hosts file. If not just rename the .sam to only hosts thats it.

Reduce hit count to between 1 - 4.
4 is best for me. It depend on what level u are.
Best thing is trial and error starting from lowest hit
from 2 and slowly increasing by 1.

Ok problem is only that everything works for me. 1-hit kill. It works if you turn up hit count = 300. thats what i did anyways. I hit things and it dies in one hit. But nothing drops, no gold, never, nothing. So I was wondering how that could be fixed. If this problem has already been resolved im sorry for not reading more. If anyone could help thanks alot.

This hack doesn't work for everybody, if you get it working you're lucky and if you don't you were never meant to cheat. I (like many other peopl here) was meant to cheat because I downloaded it and thats it no downloading java or anyhthing it just worked. If you mess around with it until you get it to work you've cheated the system and will be punished mostlikely by being banned.

Hey i got windows XP and i got it too work... they havent fixed the protocol yet well u jus gotta overwrite the first hosts files with the one that got created. Configure the hack, run it and connect to MU.

If u wanna overwrite the original Hosts u gotta right clik it and go to properties and turn off the read only... then we u r saving it go to the "save as TYPE"and turn it to all files and overwrite the hosts.sam

i have this problem... if set 1 the conter the game is normal, if set 2 seldom drop.

why don't create the cheat for Drop ?

I tested MUProxy on the following Windows-Systems:

Win98, Win98-SE, WinME, Win2K, WinXP-Home, WinXP-Prof

And i can say, that it works on all these systems...the only thing you have to do is

and if you don't know where your hosts file is and how you have to enter your IP then go to www.google.com

what type of connection do u have ? u have internal/external , static/dynamic IP ?

I had that "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MUProxy" problem and I solve it.
The problem is that if you have Windows XP with SERVICE PACK 1 it won't install the Java correctly, so you have to make some install steps manually. I don't have time to explain the whole process now, but this site helped me:

to those who can't get it to work and seeing Error box with no text some reason are 1) you are behind a router, 2) you have firewall of somesort, 3) you are behind a private network. so the local ip you entered in the hosts file will cause some proxy problem once the game tried to connect to the game server. also mention the fact that Mu might has fix their proxy or chagned it to alter hack effects.

pardon the question again but i got the exact same problem as bocon. i've winxp pro and when i enter mu, a small error with an OK button appears. can't move the mouse too. ~nightmare said that is when the hosts file isnt filled in right. i've followed IOd's guide religously a lot of times and still get the same result. don't wanna annoy you guys and i spent the whole day yesterday trying to make it work before posting. so, how exactly did i mess up in the hosts file? where exactly should i line it? tried putting it above and below the rest. tried everything already but not the right one obviously. pls help. thanks and take care y'all.

Being behind a router is better because you have a static IP. Private network has nothing to do with this unless the net. admin. has closed some ports. If it's a hard. router you can easily change the settings for it to work, with a soft. firewall it will most likely prompt you if not it's alose easyu to change.

Looks ike you may have some adware/spyware. In windows XP it has a coyright and everything in win98 it doesn't. The file you're looking for looks exactly like this: Hosts . No extension or anything.

As seen so far for some muproxy worked but for the most no.The problem as far as i know is Iod after 218.153.120.211:44405 connects at 218.153.120.211:55901 but actually for some reason the game establishes connection at 218.153.120.35:55901 the second time.Any suggestions?
