K, what I know about google is that it uses two different methods of determining who gets ranked high/low.

The first is relevance, and that gets into the pool. After that pool you are given a rank based on your page rank value... which is determined by how many sites link to you. 1-10 = 1, 10-100 = 2, ect.

I want to know a few other things about how google operates.

1) if you have a forum, will it search every page on your forum? If you have a site that generates material for each user as a portal would, does it visit all pages that it can as a guest?
2) how often does google update
3) if you have something on your site like a little discription, is it helpfull to have a bunch of keywords? For example, if your site was for cats, would "cats, cat toys, catnip, (ect) be scanned? I heard that google blacklists people who just put down all their keywords... is that true?

-Thanks

It will follow any internal hyperlinks that it can.

Yup, means you will crop up on google for more things. Think about pr0n sites, they have a whole bunch of irrelevent keywords.

as for forums it will visit all the pages it can, yet if you have session hash enabled google won't visit almost any pages since sessionhash makes it list same pages over and over, so as soon as it sees sessionhash variables not only will they drop your PR, they will also stop the bots from scowering the page (and usually session hash is enabled for guests, for most forums, VB3 disables it for google, but that's basically the only one I know that does this without any hacks)

it only drops the PR for the page being viewed right?

it drops the PR for the entire site

why would google penalize sites for having sessions enabled... i mean, its not like your doing anything wrong :x

yes but it screws up their google bots so... they hate you for it... basically they're saying that if you got a forum either make it google friendly by at least turning off sessionhash for the google bots or go screw yourself.
