recording software

I need the names of some software that will allow me to record directly thru my computers audio-in phone slot and into a MP3/WAV/whatever. I dont wanna use a microphone because i would lose quality. I hooked up my sterio headphone jack to my computers in line, i just need some way of recording that sound.
