Trying to create a hack, where do I start?

Hey, I have vb6, and vbnet. I want to create a hack, but I don't know where to start. The closest I ever got to hacking was in DukeNukem and gameshark for n64. What programs will I need and are there any people who could lend a helping hand? Thanks alot. This will go good towards my team and the rebirth of my current site. Thanks again. PLease reply soon.

Check the Battlefield1942 forum on this site there are links to tutorials that will point you in the right direction including where to download tools needed. Remember too first read all the tutorials (Maphack would be the first one) until you understand them backwards and forwards (about a copuple of hours worth of reading) then create a maphack for BF1942... believe me the practice you get doing that will help you with creating one for BFV.

Btw: how did they know what values to search for? Like the range for nametags, etc?

For example: how do I know whats client-side and what range to search for for example: infinitie health?

Well I will put it like this: Every "value" that effects everyone on the server is serverside. For example health. It you had infinite health, it would effect you but also everyone else beacuse they couldn't kill you. So that makes it serverside and is a no-go for a trainer.

So basically things that only affect your game (client) are clientside, like nametags, maphack, fog, etc...

And about the ranges you have to look for, well that's just guessing. You just have to use some common sense between which to values something that u wanna hack might be, but that can be very hard and time consuming.

No problem... I'm taking a 4 day weekend to just hack as to the values... read the tutorials they explain how to find them that is about 90% of the work... and fun.

just in software, your gonna need tsearch and probably softice.

also, where is a good place to get VB?

vb is not freeware or shareware so MS will be your only legal source. any other talk about "other" sources will not be tolerated so be careful-

I have VB .net, got it straight from MS. Took a few surveys sent em a few people, they sent me office 2003 AND VB6/VBNET

I been a beta tester for MS since '97 so I get their products for free. I might even move my currect vb.net 2003 project to whidbey. After all a new release of it just came out.

What more do I want? A hack that has 3d, most likley I wont get far with this hack. Still looking into it.

Look its all explained in another thread. You have to have NameTags hack working before you can find the code for the 3dmap. The thread even explains how to find the 3dmap address real easy.
