Hi.

Ok, some of the coding and reversing cracks wrote in another thread.... we want new questions and another challenge. *g
Still the same questions are boring. :-)

Hacking the game itself is not very difficult. Some things are more (fog, accuracy) some are less (map, tag)

But.. I would like to learn about PB... No, I don´t want: send me a crack to disable screenshot. *G

I would like to understand it.. Maby a thread.. starting with some easy.... to medium... to hard... step by step hints to understand it....

Idea.

1. Punkbuster Files... which for what
2. .DLL are packed... Neolite.. unpack Tools... manual Unpacking
3. Good Breakpoint...
4. how to debug / disasmble
5. PB Protections (CRC / Hearthbeet)
6. and so on..

I know.. some of you.. (BF1942Lover, Looney usw...) know some good things about it...
Mayby some of you have some time to lead.. us (learning people like me) to understand this things.... Like a mentor mayby. :-)

Just an idea....

If it´s to stupid or posted in the wrong place.. just close it..

I am already very strained on the answers.

The thing is, hacking PB means global-GUID bans. The community was already hit hard with the global bans. I dont think people want to go there again. Specially with vietnam cause its too early to loose a cdkey and having to go out and buy a new cdkey. Also, it was discussed by the admin of this site(MPC), that talk of unpacking and decrypting of copywrited stuff(PB dlls and what not) is illegal and therefore not allowed on the site.

You never gonna be the winner when you try to hack PB and release it to the public? And why should you hack PB when you have your private working hack? no reason for that...
doesnt matter how "good" it hacks PB...it will end in global bans (like Daz's).

i have seen your hacks working in the pb servers so dont f--- with pb you will be very
sorry when you do.
when you cheat dont make it so all will know you are cheating like get 30 kills when the ones who dont cheat only get 10.
that way you will get a server ban and not just a pb ban
cheat and cheat :=} dont be silly server admins know if you are good or just cheating
i have seen lots of cheating and if i can see it so can server admins.
do the right thing die some times dont get 30 kills and die just 1 time like i have seen some one doing just that ends in a server ban.
i love to cheat its the best way to get to know the game but i love to cheat in this game
but no hacks to play on pb servers thats where i play dont like none pb servers not much fun on them more fun on pb servers when you cheat thats what i miss

Even acting like your not cheating can still get ya busted. Even before PB was in bf, I seen lots of admin cheat themselves. 95% of the time they can tell if someone is cheating real easy cause they are cheating too. They can watch you while being dead, see if you head right to someone on the minimap(since they got a minimap hack too they can see what you do), and see that your aiming right where their nametag is(cause again, they have it too). So one thing you wanna do is not play on servers you noticed that the admin was also cheating.

Thanks for your answers.. Ok, i won´t talk about hacking copyright stuff like pb.. if it´s out of the scope on this board.

The only point, I would like to intercept are the screenshots... Becaus this is the only way, someone could be caught with a good hack...

well, its still be discussed on how we should handle hacking pb talk. The reason why it all came up, is someone released the decrypted and unpacked PB dlls for another game. The were put on the MPC download ftp, but now is removed. We might allow the talk on PB but nothing about posting any details you get from hacking it. Its hard to say what we will and will not allow yet.
