i don't think one has been done. if there is enough demand for one, i could make one. what do the regulars think of this?
otherwise you can just change it yourself in the registry:
located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA GAMES/Battlefield Vietnam/ergc
it's pretty simple just to do it yourself and plus you won't have to worry if your key is being stolen by a cd key stealer....

better for people to do their own registry changes imho, it's not rocket science and saves the flame wars of 'u nicked my cd key' sh1te.

What I think is we should atleast have 1 public cdkey changer. I would perfer if its by a forum regular and someone that might have released a public hack already. Caliber, you would be the perfect person to release it being a mod here and all. That way there is no problem about well its a cdkeyer BS.

i'll make one. might as well release something. if anyone has already started, tell me so i won't have to waste my time. amazingly simple.
edit: i've got one done. what options should i include? right now i have find, set, save (saves in text file in app.path as list like a cdkey manager) tell me if i'm missing anything.
P.S: i don't have bfv, so i'm relying on the fact that the cdkey is saved in the ergc file

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\ergc
Didnt you notice above that caliber put this up already.

yeah, i was just saying that i was relying on it. double checking. quality control. being careful. jeez, can't move an inch in here without getting your head bitten off. btw, if i were to copy and paste what caliber wrote, i'd have a defective program, since it needs to be "\" not "/"

i trust you coward and it saves me time. go ahead and post it here and i didn't use the right / \ or whatever because i was in a hurry so thanks for correcting that. i guess if you use the one for bf1942 as a template for how to have it function, that would be great- thanks in advance on behalf of the members here if you get it done. also, if you don't want to release it then let me know and i'll go ahead and do it. it's the simplest of programs, just a simple reg read and write and some file management to save the other keys.

sorry folks, i've been waiting around for drkenneth to come online so i could send the program to him to compile into an exe (i don't buy or steal programs, so no vb pro). but he's on vacation. if someone wants to instant message me @ "ommojob" and turn it into an exe, i can do that, or i can post the easiest source code here, so you can make cdkey changers for any game.
Spontaneous
17th April 2004, 22:54
DO NOT POST THE SOURCE CODE!@! This would give most of the coding needed to make a cdkey stealer into the public. Its better to keep the source to the well knowns so we dont get a bunch of cdkey stealers. I would compile it but I only have my vb.net installed. It would be better to compile it using vb6 so people dont need .Net framework installed just for this. I do have vb6 but not installed, sorry.

ok, but just so you know, code to steal cdkeys is all over the internet. anyone can do it, it's just a matter of character. the hard part of cdkey stealing can't be actually getting the cdkey, it's sending it out again. when a cdkey changer asks your firewall to use the internet, then something's probably up. plus, if it's open source, then nobody would need to download cdkey changers, because they could make their own. well, i'm waiting until someone who has vb6 pro can make it an exe. and if you don't want me to post source code, i won't.
Spontaneous

I would perfer you not to release the source code. They might be able to find coding like it all over the internet but this is a place I do not want it availible. Not everyone has vb just like you dont so having it open source for people to compile would only help a select few, not the masses.

ok, here it is. it looks pretty cruddy since it lost some stuff when my friend compiled it, like a label which explained some stuff and icon.
find: returns current cdkey, this is also done on program start up
set: puts whatever number from textbox into registry
save: saves whatever number is in top textbox to a textfile where you saved the exe. it will load this on start up, as well as put the key in the listbox.
bugs-- tell me and i'll try to compile it again tonight when people come online.
i have only tested this on bf1942, so your help is appreciated.
when it starts up, it should have your cdkey in that top textbox, or else it doesn't work.

thanks for the help and the effort coward. i didn't get your PM message until today and it looks like you got this done already so never mind my reply- anyways, nice work-
i guess von dutch or somebody will check it and add it to the directory ftp? also should we pin this one like the one in the bf1942 forum?
Coward

nah, it really doesn't do much. if anyone thinks there would be a need for a general cdkey changer, i can make that. you just need to know the path. i thought that that would go contradict the purpose of people not opening the registry and taking the 1 minute to find it, because it's not logical that the path would be electronic arts\ea games, but if you want one, it will be a simple change and i'll post it.

guys u know where i can get a few cdkey ??
edit by admin: destructor, you are warned for asking for keys here. this is not allowed-
teresa
20th April 2004, 18:11
@destructor2004
If i understand this is not the right place where u can ask abt that, this is a forum abt cheats not abt pirate issues...
cdkey will be stealed from other users and they won't be able to play with their own cd's...
So if u really want to find out that go and search on the web...
Ciao.
I did it good @spontaneous?
