View Full Version : Binding

I tried out the 'include' command suggested in another thread and put together a semi-useless script type thing. It fires a shot with whatever weapon you have out, and then switches to weapon 3 (and keeps firing if you hold it down). However, it doesn't do what I originally wanted, which was to throw a grenade. I think it's because the delay for throwing is too long, so it just switches first.
Just extract the file to your BFV directory and type "include UselessBind.con" without the quotes. Then, pressing F will do it. If you have secondary keys set to fire or select item 3, it will overwrite them, but they'll be restored next time you start the game.
This is pretty simple stuff, but maybe someone else can improve on the idea. The main problems right now is that you can only have two different keys to peform an action, and that you can't put a delay between commands. Good luck!

I just thought of something a bit less useless. This one will jump out of a plane and open your parachute if you just hold down joystick button 4.
One thing to take note of when setting up these bindings is the difference between addKeyToTriggerMapping and addButtonToTriggerMapping. Key is for keyboard, button is for joysticks and mice.

hey shangtz, we haven't seen you a for a while around here. remember back in the good old days when we all played in the bfsecure servers in low grav? or was that later?
maybe this will be the kick-off for scripting in bf. did you find out for sure that you can't a delay or more than one action in one key, or did you just not figure out how to get it yet?

Hi there, I've been around, just lurking a bit. There may be a way to do delay and multiple keys, but I don't know what it is. I tried setting the last argument in a line to 2, but it acted the same way as if it was 1. As for delay, if there's a command for it, it'll be simple; If there isn't, you'll need to do it from outside the game with another program.
One cool thing I've found out is if you edit the first bind to switch to weapon 2 (or any other for what it matters), and you fire a full-auto weapon with the bind, it won't switch until you run out of ammo; But when it does switch, it's basically instant.

hey, if you need any help making a delay program, i can make one that can operate with any files and run them whenever you want. just say the word. maybe a script manager. all depends on if scripts catch on. in mohaa everyone could script, so it was a big thing. now that everyone's shown their resiliance to making their own hacks, scripts will be simple.

is there a link or something or a site that has info on scripting? like a scripting bible or how-to somewhere? there's lots of things that this would be useful for-

just write a program in vb that detects a keypress and have it "sendkeys" into BFV the other keys you want pressed. you can even thow in pauses with a few more lines of code.

yeah, that's the easiest thing to do. as i recall from mohaa, there was a script that changed your fps to low and back again, so you looked laggy to everyone else. dunno if that would help in bf, but it was pretty fun in mohaa.

What is there to bind? Isn't it just a matter of getting over it and holding a button down?

Hi, Guys
Don't know if this would be considered a bind, but I was in a game where this guy was flying the Huey Gunship solo and was able to fire the gunners machine gun. Same with the Cobra, he could fire the heatseekers.

heatseekers I can see no problem but the gunners on a huey would be a bit more tricky.
Its easy to fire both weapons u just switch seats in mid air and fire then switch back to flight seat. 1 thing when he fired the heat seekers did he lose altitude cos if not it may b a bind.

No, when he fired the heatseeker he didn't lose orientation. I know, I was in a gook chopper facing him multiple times.
And the guy using the gunners machine gun was shooting just like he was the gunner. The bullets seemed to be following a straight path true to his missle crosshairs.
This combined with his above average skill as a chopper pilot was a devistating combination.
