EA are developing a new patch to BFV.
See
this site (http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/vietnam/us/editorial.jsp?src=community_update_07 ) for more info

that sucks ass.... thanks for the far warning though!

means we need to update our hack offsets no? or will they be the same... just change the window caption in our hacks?

We dont knows. It does sound like they might have changed the accuracy offset so we would have to refind that. Its hard to say if they will change all the offsets to throw off hacks. Reason being, is now PB catches hackers. Changing the offsets means PB has to refind the offsets too so it they can detect the cheats. See it throws off PB then. No matter what you will have to change the window caption to the new name of the process.

yea ok.. understand the process name caption, thingy ma bober...

but what do you mean "PB catches hackers." that they actually are currently detecting ppl with hacks that were made with CC's? or just the other bunch that stick to TMK?

Cheers!

PS: that does suck! they are decreasing Prone accuracy..... EA = Lame asses and PB and Dice and everyone else against UC, and MPC... screw them!

No, man it says "M60 and RPD max bullet deviation decreased slightly when prone." They are decreasing the deviation, which means that the accuracy is increasing.

M60 removed from the LAW kit and replaced with M14 <--Been waiting for this...but now the M14/LAW ain't worth picking up lol.

Spontaneous - that they change the deviation of a weapon doesnt automatically mean that the accuracy offset changes... But of course a new patch always means completly new offsets, the location of the code changes. So if 1.01 is released, we can do all the work again, for all the hacks ;)

Question, if i have my accuracy hack on it is as accurate as it is going to get correct. Or is it still more accurate when in the prone

I like when people are able to make hacks and not understand how they work :)

test0r, yea I know them changing the deviation does not mean they change the offset but they could have.

The thing is, we can not be sure if they are changing the offsets or not. When they released 1.6 from 1.5, they did not change offsets. It came with PB so they didnt change the offsets(atleast from what I read, I didnt make my own hack before 1.6).

thats wrong, if they change the EXE and recompile it all offsets (of the same asm codes) are different. Thats why old hacks dont work after a patch comes out...

I like when people are so smart they type a bunch of psycho babble instead of just answering the question. :)

if the patch replaces the vietnam.exe, then it undoubtably will completely change all the code entries and so your offsets will no longer work. this is not up for discussion, any hacks that read or write to memory WILL NO LONGER WORK for the new version of the .exe! you can count on having to do all of your tsearch and ollydbg work over again. not sure if the patch will do anything to pb, but likely they will have to reset their scan points since the areas they are scanning currently will have changed with the new .exe. ss avoid may also need to be redone if the pb .dll's are different. i don't think releasing another public non-pb hack is a good idea as this will simply give pb the addresses fairly quickly again, but i can't stop test0r from doing it-

so yes, the offsets and addresses will be different. you wrote down all the steps for each part of your hack right???? changing your trainer/hack will be simply entering the new addresses in place of the old ones in those cases and the suck part will be rewriting code caves if you did that or stealthing your code again when you are changing opcodes, etc. of course you will have to test and then recompiling. anyways, get used to this as this will happen over and over again as new patches come out, especially near the beginning of the original release.

wonder if they will patch the offsets? rofl thats pretty obvious answer, no?

thats obvious and was like that for bf1942. each patch=redo the hacks

Well some work ahead, I just love to put those POKES in to VB....NOT!!!! LOL.
But actualy if you have grown adicted to this stuf like me (pitty please), then ist gona be fun doing it again. starting to get a bit boring when you have done it all, no?

to be frank the game starts to bore me a lot. too few maps to experience and patch dont even introduce bf1942 laststuff (voting etc)..i think its gonna sit and collect dust till a content patch(maps, weps, vehicles etc) in a couple of months or a decent mod show up.

I actually wish they would just release the patch, I wanna redo a couple things on my hack anyways. I am going to make my own fog/viewdistance hack for myself, my brother will just have to use console. I also want to work in something xollox pointed out to me that I thought was only texture but can be done memory editting(sniper overlay). Not just that some of the parts of the game really need to be fixxed anyways. chilli I feel you there. Personally I wish a DC mod would be released for vietnam, thats why I wish battlefield2 was now not in a year.

Well The EOD Mod is on the horizon Spont, its not DC but its somet.
Comon Guys whats with the doom and gloom, CHEER UP.

I dont know if I stay playing BFV.... sometimes I really think bf42 still is better, the atmosphere etc... (yes, although it is older..). Will see when the patch comes..

Spontaneous

Theres things I like about both. See I really cant wait for a mod because it will bring a different feeling to vietnam. Take the good things from vietnam and 1942 and put them into a mod. Put more vehicles into the game.

testor i agree with you..bf1942 setting is more versatile. world war2 theme is more open to map creativity, and a slower pace that allow tactics in field. at the contrary vietnam is a pretty closedup conflict with no map diversity possible (if its not city its jungle). much of the fun disappeared with the update of army arsenal also. whats the fun of dogfighting when you have heatseekers or sa7 or the jets speeds like hell? helis are nice but too powerful, where are tank battles etc.
sure i'll play again both games when a content patch shows up but till that i dont touch bf games anymore.

heres my perfect game should be (notice the flowers):
@--'--@---,@--'--
battlefield 1942 using farcry engine. soldiers would have to buy their gear, engineers could build static defences (like in farcry) and get rewarded. and support from developpers like IDsoftware , that would give new content everymonth :)
@--,--@--'--@--, {end of my dream}

LOL nice dream chilli.
I read some stuff about BF2, I know its released next year but it sounds realy good, if they implement that stuff.

yes its gonna be a whole new game, not like BFVietnam...

Spontaneous

Yep, whole new game. Mainly based on todays wars and weapons. They pushed the release date to next year just cause they dont want to take too much away from vietnam right now being just released and all. It is looking like a very good game. I look forward to that one the most out of all the battlefield games.
