my first xperience with pt

i decided to jump into pt world with aor patches.
well techincally speaking its quite ugly everything is pixellised (i have radeonXT) and its lagging. gameplay wise its heavy hack and slash and i have yet to see ONE quest (other than the wings)..so i hacked and slashed and hacked and slashed and i found myself at level 1x (knight) quickly but after that too hard to solo and xp progression is too slow. and skills only enabled at lvl10 lol. the trade system is shitty with no merchant advertising..ppl are shouting and you miss half of what it is said...
someone explain me whats the fun in this game???

yes granted im a noob (like you were when u played first i remind you). i just pointed out what i dont like but also wanted to see if there's good sides, because its quite addictive. i have a serious problem though: when i play longer than an hour my eyes hurt and i guess that is due to the pixellised gfx. anyone know a fix for that? (i have my monitor refresh rate set to 85hz but seems the game dont care)

well .. sry for that.. but if u know ur a noob, why are u certainly about that? ur post was an aff. sentence and i think u need to play a bit more to know that theres a quest, and one more is commin.. about the graphics, here its ok.. when u open it, click Settings..
dunno if u have done that.. u can set graphics options there.. what do u mean about no merchant advertising? sry but im not american..

I have no idea what you are moaning about the graphics... Set the resolution and vid settings higher, and you shouldn't have any problems... I am using a 4-year-old vid card and I get no video lag, at all. lvl 20 is the quest, though I really don't care about quests. I think the game is more fun to make friends and play together. Also, it is a quest in itself to get the best possible weapons and stats for your character. As for slow leveling... I am tired of people griping about that. You think you should be able to get to lvl 20 in a day without doing much? If that is the case, then perhaps you should play a game that doesn't require planning/skill/etc.... The selling system is very unique in the game because it is all done one on one. If you want to buy something hard to find or extremely specific, try going to a pt forum somewhere that has items for sale.... A good one would be: http://ptprophecy.com/forum/

Also, don't compare this game to MU. MU, last time I checked at least, doesn't have 4 versions being developed and updated all over the world. This game is free, hosted on private servers, and extremely well done since they recently got rid of all the lag (for me at least...).

well if you knew that new graphic cards were out and amazing games that use them were out for 4 years you'd know why i moan at the gfx. and i already went in options to crank up gfx (im not blind uh uh?) and fact is: gfx sux. you dont care abt quests good for u, but dont call this game an rpg because certainly diablo isnt one and this game is same hack and slash fest with no quest or feeling of world immersion. and yes the leveling is too slow if you tried other mmorgs you'd know?? and finally i never mentionned MU anywhere in my post but it shows you sound like a pt fanatic boy who get nervous when someone points bad points. get over it its a g-a-m-e and remember game opinions are like asholes: everbody got one, and everybody thinks everyone elses stinks!

I know why the graphics are ugly to you. On the settings window, set network and video settings to 1, not 4. I made that mistake before. I was going crazy figuring out why it looked so much like shit.

i dun think leveling is slow.. if u know how to play it, u can get lvl 50 in 1week.. i dun know that yet, i can get only lvl 40 .. but my friend had a knight 4x, a fighter 5x, a mech 6x... then he got hacked an he went to tpt(thainland ver.).. now he has a 6x pike there and a 4xknight here..
ah, and the 6x mech he done in about 1 month..
he has 32transes and 3murkys... when u get used to play u can do that

Took me about 4 days of playing 1-2 hours a day to get to lvl 24 with my prs character, lvl'ing is not slow. Once again, if you want to play a game where you can level fast and have a bunch of very high level characters, then that is just fine. Your choice is your choice. I enjoy the fact that it takes so long to level at times because it gives you time to plan strategy for skill choices and stat point placement.

How many of those games with incredible graphics you speak of are free? Only good free game with very good graphics is America's Army which isn't even an RPG. You seem to only see the flaws in things, perhaps you should post in the forums of the games you like instead of trolling and flaming in a forum for a game you dislike....

well i enjoy somewhat playing pt since the addiction is there (like all mmorpg true) but that doesnt prevent me seeing bad points to the game..hehe i can be a critic player and complain rightfully abt aspects of the game (what u call trolling), and play it nonetheless. remember opinions are like etc etc..
i tried cranking the gfx to 1 and network to 1, but well gfx still same and lag in game still same. if there are more than 5 ppl around you start seeing them warping (im on 1mbit connection). so yes my pt experience is not that satisfying and i just want to see what are the remaining good points when u reach higher lvls to keep me playing. thats all

hahaha yea right, lvl 24 in 4-8 hours??? lmao; whos BS'in who here?.........and lvl-ing IS slow, look below for the monsters that are lvl 21-30, i get ±2K for those monsters, WOW 2k........ realizing that i need to have 230K XP to lvl up...... so thats killing about 150 monsters to lvl up and that is IF i kill em all alone... dont get me wrong i like to play it sometimes but not as much as before, as for going to partys with people that are higher lvld, well if they would stop whining im to low i may gain xp much faster.... and fighting alone is to boring to continue..

Anyway, back to where we were, to the original poster:
If you don't like this game then don't play it. It is free so you have abosolutely no position to slag it off. You haven't paid a penny to play it, so you cannot demand that the game should be better. Maybe if they were making some money from this they would upgrade some more.
As for lag, maybe you would consider hosting a server for the game, with nobody paying, i'm sure that would work out really well for you economically.

Also guys you probably shouldn't post your in game names on here, you never know who is reading.

Hrm hebe I think that was a slight understatement there, 1-2 hours a day for 4 days, call that 8 hours...I have played for so many more hours than that and am still only lvl22 even though I go in good parties all the time and get steady xp. I would agree that the levelling in PT is far too slow to be amusing, there are some 79 levels or something FFS.

1)in case you didnt notice its not a "free" game, its an open beta of a commercial game: other language version of the game are already p2p and ept will be p2p.
2)whether its free or not, i dont see why i should refrain from voicing my opinion on the game. for example, Enemy Territory is a FREE game, and still there are ppl in many forums that complain about game aspects and make suggestions. so that means they should shutup?
3) it happens the developers correct bugs and servers problems, and maintain official forums to hear ppl complains. so that means they should stop?
4) if you read my posts in this thread , im stating obvious weak points and also stating that im somewhat pleased about the game, having a balanced opinion (neither fanboy neither troll).

remember: opinions are like asholes, everybody thinks other elses stink. this is a forum i accept other opinions without overreacting, so should others.

Might have been 10 hours at most. I am a prs, I get parties in forgotten through lvl 1x and 2x... I am 3x now, and I have played about 15 hours total. Once you get DL, exp moves very fast.
