I need to take a screencapture or something of a dvd, i dont care how i do it, but i need it. Printscreen and all printscreen variations do not work because the film makers are trying to cut down on people using printscreen demo makers to create .avi's of their dvds. I need some way to capture a still image tho, any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Ask your friends, get me help, i will reward you.

what you need to do is disable overlay for videos...... if you're using an Nvidia Card you can easily do this through the nView properties, otherwise I'm not exactly sure how to do this but I'm sure it's possible..... check the website of your card manufacturer to find out how to disable overlay/video overlay

Are you trying to get a short clip from it? Or just a screenshot?
I usually capsure stuff using CTRL+PrintScrn. Does that not work?
Or you can always use your graphic prog's 'Capture Screen' function for a screenshot.. (I'm using PaintSP.)
For a short clip, you would have to rip the DVD to avi, then use other programs to cut the clip out, variations of progs are avaiable for it. However, I would question the legality of it. Eventhough if the DVD is your own...
.....
I'd better stop here.

It may have to do if the software was bundled with the PC. My PC came with PowewrDVD and it didn't come with that option, but then I bought a better version and it did.

But I'm pretty sure CTRL+PrintScrn works with most WindowsXP's.. I may be wrong though.
