Auto Dialer

Ive benn getting these damned auto dilaer things on my comp that dial expenzive phone numbers. They DL without asking then are hard to find. I think they use activex or something. But anybody know how i can stop these things form DLing in the first place? IM dling SYgate firewall now to see if that helps. Should I cahnge Acitvex security settings or something?

yeah change your IE security settings to medium and edit the active x settings so they don't download unless they're signed by MS or another trusted company.... also stop visiting those pr0n sites :P

yah he was just lame and all excited because he got his first kiss or something, so I didnt get to angry at it. But anyways i went and got a firewall, a new spybot, and an anti-dialing program so any more hackers are gonna have a tough time.

Panda Titanium Suite has an Anti-Dialer Program, with web-filtering, good antivirus, horrible firewall (bad configuration), and a anti-spyware (get ad-aware or spybot search and destroy combined with spyware blaster).

Maybe that? Im not really sure about how good it is...

those programs are effective only if you have actually downloaded the spyware stuff.He needs something to block them from downloading.

I just use zone labs and ad-ware. Theres one other anti virus program but I hardy even notice it on my computer but is really good. Zone labs firewall is really easy to configure witch I like. Ad-awear... whats not to like about it? Fire alone should stop it from even downloading.

i recommend spyware blaster from JavaCools, the url is http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html it works good to prevent bad activeX controls like dialers, and it works with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, for those of you like me who hate Internet Explorer and use Firefox ;)
