Actually Windows comes with scheduled tasks.. Just run that and it should run what you want. and turn the PC on.

If you have windows scheduler and winXP, it works. If you have a legitimate problem, you could try their support line for free.
Another possibility is http://www.splinterware.com/products/wincron.htm, thats a very nice task program that works on all windows systems since 95.
In addition, this is the *latest* version of windows scheduler, try this if your version is old. http://www.tucows.com/preview/195734.html

Well the only way to turn the computer "on" is to induce a current across the motherboard and capacitors and if the computer is turned off, unless you have an UPS or something I doubt highly you can do that, since software cannot turn the computer on when it is off.

My mistake the box actually say: Wake the Computer to run this task.
That only wakes it from being idle.

Syphon if you use the program i m talking about you can specify the exact time when the pc will turn on.

you can specify the exact time when the pc will turn on.
As Syphon said I don't think there could be an auto turn on if the computer is actually turned off. I mean how can software give current to the motherboard?
Do you have a link to that software, I'd like to see how they do it?
nvm found the link www.rainyclouds.com was right gonna check it out.

shutting down ur pc destroys yur uptime

Well I tested the software and it is pretty slick altough it doesn't turn off your computer and turn it back on, just puts it in hibernate mode then back out. So no technically "turining it off", but it should work fine for what you want to do angelhunt.

@maverick and syphon: Yes my mistake. The program can auto power on your pc only if it is hibernated.I have tested that.
@-Isvaffel-: instead of turning off your pc you can hibernate it.With hibernation the pc thinks that it is powered on and teh uptime doesnt reset.

just tell him that if you are always turning it on and off you wear out moving parts like the hard drive. just dont mention the part that it takes a LONG time to do this.

I never hibernated.
I think it's only a useful function for the laptop. Therefore, I dont know anything about it. Does it act the same as a reset, will it clear my RAM?

hibernate takes all the info in your ram writes it to a swap file, then when you "un-hiberate"(get it to start up again) it writes all the information that is in the swap file back to the ram.

why not? i leave my computer on for a week or 2 sometimes before resetting/shutting down, gaming every day on BF1942 for like 10 hours each day, and have no problems.
