As a lot of us have discovered, you can't load up any of your skins when playing on servers that are usuing the latest mod.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? I miss playing with some of my favorite skins.

The game just doesn't look as good.

I think this problem is being worked on. Many people who rent servers also dislike this attribute to the fuzzy mod that's being used since their own clan members can't even use custom skins either. From what I heard it will either be removed from the next version or the people with ftp access can have it set however they want it to be. So as far as this topic is concerned, right now don't worry about it because there's nothing you can do about it since not even the owners are allowed to at the same time.

Make your skins DAT files.

Make your skins DAT files.
Tried that. It works in principle (interesting idea) but the new server mod detects the difference and won't let you onto the server.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Yea that's a possiblity, you may need to edit your rez files since rezzing files like skins won't work. This of course brings about a new problem..."Game Resources Differ from Server." You might get this error if you alter the models in your rezzes. Haven't tried and don't know if this is right or not but try and it and find out. I'm just too lazy to test that theory out.

Been there, done that. Couldn't get past the security checks on servers using the new mod. (To try this out, I replaced a default skin with a new skin of the same exact size in the the AVP2.REZ file, used an attribute editor to change to the original dates and then re-rezzed the file. Then used the attribute editor again to change the new AVP2.REZ file back to it's original creation date. Didn't work, still got the familiar ..."Game Resources Differ from Server" message.) Wish I knew exactly how the crc checks do their thing!
