Thanx dark for the post of cvars anyways if guys are having problem seeing in the game...

first u wanna get into console ... so
right click on ur doom3 shortcut in the target section make sure it looks like this
"C:\Program Files\ID Software\Doom 3 DVD\Doom3.exe" +seta com_allowConsole "1"

then click ok load doom3 use the ~ key and ur good to go

after that u can use
God = godmode
GiveAll = allweapons + armor
if u want to cheat or not

for the lighting and enemys
g_showTargets 1 = will put boxes around the enemys once u enter the room so u can aim and see them better in dark places
to make things brighter
r_lightscale 10 = brightens things up u can make it higher or lower ur perfernce mines on 10


if anyone else has some stuff to share please do...

the doom3.exe is compressed I think
it will not be easy to make cheatprotected commands work in multiplayer (cvarhack)
the easiest (and legal) way to create a hack for doom3 is in opengl
too bad I don't have the game yet

In order to set the cvars, open up the console by pressing CTRL+ALT+~ and then type in /set (cvar name) (value) and press enter.

It's funny considering they spent so much time making sure the game was "perfect" before it was released. Obviously, they left out a few lines of code.


You are right about Doom 3 being packed/compressed but you can always dump it at runtime.

Anyway, people can use r_shownormals to see "fuzzy" RGB players through walls for the time being.

Type r_show then press tab and you'll get a list of show commands.

There are loads of cvars that give you wallhacks. I think r_showSilhouette and r_showTris both do it. r_showNormals kind of works but you have to be very close to a wall to see through it.
