MrJingles Go to Options (Press Alt+O) and look for the perform section.. then Look at the Servers it offers Auto Perform for... If you have the latest version of IRC you should click Add and put in Rizenet.org and then fill it in with all the perform actions you want.. or just put it in All :)

Hmm firstly get indentify'ed as Da_buzz then Get identified as [oC]Da_buzz , then some channels may deop you then go back to da_Buzz get verified again , Then back to [oC]Da_buzz without authenitication . Happens with me and the ]MpC[ Tag . i lost ops in #123 . Then again ask ppl to make you ops again
Da BuzZ
24th April 2003, 15:50
Well...i got the channels to op me as 'Da_BuzZ' :p :)
thevilone
24th April 2003, 17:21
If you authenticate as Da_buzz the, Oc again , and once again Da_buzz . THen you should be able to be op in all the channels with teh name of your choice . works for me

Chapter 1: What is IRC? Tell me about it
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It's basically just chat, no need to get really technical here. It's a way for people all over the world to communicate with one another. The IRC is made up of different networks of IRC Servers that allow you to connect to the IRC to chat. There are various IRC Networks or "nets" as they are sometimes called. For instances the largest network is the EFnet which is my personal favorite. The EFnet often has over 30,000 people connected to it. The there are other networks, just as good like the Undernet, DALnet, IRCnet, GalaxyNet and the NewNet. The various char rooms on the EFnet are referred to as "channels" where people converse about a topic the channel is devoted to. All channel names begin with a "#" sign in front of them. For example, #chat and #computers. Channel can also start with an ampersand (&), but you really won't see that much. (For example: &chat and &computers) You don't need to worry about that though. Channels like #chat for example are shared on the same network. For example, #chat of the EFnet is shared by all the IRC servers that are connected to the EFnet. Everyone on the IRC has something called a "Nickname" which identifies them. For example you could have a nickname like CoolGuy or Mike21. Please try to avoid picking common nicknames like "Mike" or "Rich" because on some networks nicknames are not "owned" by people so anyone could take those nicknames. No two people on the same network can have the same nick. The EFnet is an example of a network where no one "owns" a nickname unlike DALnet where you may register your nickname so no one else can use it. I'll explain about nickname services later in this tutorial. Now if you are an America Online member you may already know what goes on in a chat room or channel as it is called on IRC. AOL chat rooms run wild all the time, no one has control over these rooms but AOL employes. On IRC it is different, people called "Channel Operators" control the IRC channel. They are the poeple with the "@" in front of their nicknames. Channel Operators are usually called "ops" for short. These ops have total control of what goes on in the channel. They can kick people out, ban certain people from the channel and give channel operator status to other people. Please take note that it is impolite to ask for ops in a channel and sometimes results in a kick or a ban. The IRC servers themselves are ran by people we call "IRC Operators", usually referred to as "IRC Ops". They are like the police of the IRC. If you are in trouble you should ask one for help. I will show you later how to find an IRC Op. IRC Ops have the power to kick you off an IRC Server if necessary and also they can K:line you from an IRC Server. A K:line is bad, you don't want a K:line. When you are K:lined from a server it means that you have been banned and can no longer use that IRC Server. To IRC you must also know some basic IRC Commands. Now, there are a lot of IRC Commands, but for now I will only show you the ones a beginner needs to know. You will learn more as we go along. All IRC Commands start with a "/" in front. For example: /join #chat. That command would make you join the channel #chat. You type these commands in the edit box at the bottom of the screen, not very hard. Here are some basic commands you should know:
Command What Happends Example
/join You join a channel /join #chat
/part You leave a channel /part #chat
/ignore Ignores someone /ignore CoolGuy
/whois Brings up info on a nickname /whois CoolGuy
/msg Sends a private message to someone /msg CoolGuy Hello!
/quit You leave IRC /quit Bye All!
/help Get's you help /help
Those are the basic command you should know, I suggest you memoize them all. It's hard very hard once you get the hang of it.
Chapter 2: How do I connect to the IRC?
Well, first off you need at program called a "IRC Client". There are various IRC Clients out there. The most popular is mIRC which also happens to be the one I like to use. There are different clients for different operating systems, you should be aware of this. For Windows 95/98 there is a board line of clients like ViRC, pIRCH , XiRCON and many more. For Macs, Ircel. For UNIX, ircII and BitchX. Please let me warn you that not all of this programs are free, some of them are shareware which means you can use the program for free for a certain amount of time and then you must pay for the program. Remember to support our shareware authors so they can bring us more wonderful shareware programs. I really can't explain how to set up the IRC Client because every client worlds differently. So my advise to you if you are confused as to how to set it up is to use your clients help file, it's the best way. It wouldn't be fair if I showed how to setup mIRC and not Ircel so I hope you understand.
Chapter 3: Uhm, I'm connect now what?
Well, I'm glad you got this far. You should give yourself a pat of the back. For starters if your IRC Client has a logging opinion, I would advise you use it just in case a problem arises. Again all clients are different, so I will leave that up to you. Let's join #chat. You know how to do it, type in the command, /join #chat. This is what your average IRC Channel looks like. To express yourself, just type something into the edit box below and press enter, very simple. The your screen your IRC Client should alert you about people joining, parting and quitting IRC, that is normal. If you would like to tell everyone on the channel about that you are doing you would use the "/me" command. For example, say I was drinking a nice cold beer. To alert the channel of this, you would type: /me drinks a nice cold beer. On the screen you should see: * drinks a nice cold beer. Cool eh? Now look to your right if you are using a Windows or Mac IRC Client. (This does not show up list UNIX clients, you should do /names to see the list of people in the channel) You should see a list of people currently in the channel. As you might remember I told you the people with the "@" in front of their nicknames are Channel Operators. Yep you got it, those are the people that have control of the channel, be nice to them. Now you may notice something I did not explain to you on the list. Well if you don't see them, they are the people with the "+" in front of there nicknames, those people are "voiced users". Users who are voiced don't have any control over the channel, so they cannot kick you out or ban you, etc. The only power voiced users have is to talk when the channel is "moderated" while you the normal user cannot talk. This only applies when the channel is "moderated", though you may voice people when the channel is not moderated. So you may ask, how do I tell if the channel is moderated? Type /mode and if you see +m anywhere, that means the channel is moderated and only the voiced users and channel ops may talk in the channel. You the normal user can just watch until you are voiced by a channel operator. When the channel is not moderated you should know that being voiced can sometimes show VIP status in the channel. Someone voiced could very well be a friend of a channel operator.

Lets break it down in an easier to digest method:
Get connected (read below if you dont know how). Lets see some stuff. Goto #mpc, i'm probably there so be nosy and whois me.
The command for this is:
/whois <nick>
So in this case:
/whois Syphon
Type that as you normally would in that chat window.
When you have done this the following information (or something similar) will appear:
«00:47:42» « whois start »
«00:47:42» « Syphon is syphonpwnz@my.vhost.is.none.of.y-0.biz {James}
«00:47:42» « Syphon on +#mpc @#123 +#moenen #rizenet +#virtuax @#rizenet-sounds *#dutch +#DiMaGuLoYkYr *#mpc_d2 *#mpcjk2 @#pimpz @#mods *#mpc_c&c %#sxh ^#mohaa
«00:47:42» « Syphon using omega.rizenet.org {RizeNET}
«00:47:42» « Syphon has been idle 37secs {signed on Sun Jun 22 19:59:41 2003}
So what is all this stuff?
First off:
syphonpwnz@my.vhost.is.none.of.y-0.biz <> This is the address I am connecting from. In this case, 'my.vhost.is.none.of.y-0.biz' is what is known as a 'vhost'. This is not my real connection address and is a service provided by Rizenet.
A normal connection address would be something like:
syphon@rize-3F4CBA9A.kabel.telenet.be
Second:
{James} This is what i have specified my name as. (Changeable in options).
Third:
Syphon on +#mpc @#123 +#moenen #rizenet +#virtuax @#rizenet-sounds *#dutch +#DiMaGuLoYkYr *#mpc_d2 *#mpcjk2 @#pimpz @#mods *#mpc_c&c %#sxh ^#mohaa
This is a list of all channels I am in ('idling' in). #mpc is the mpc channel as you know, but what do the symbols mean?
* - Channel founder. This means I registered the channel and have complete control of everyone in it. When a person with this comes into the room you will usually see:
« mode » {ChanServ} sets {+oq Syphon Syphon}
Here the mode q represents channel founder.
^ - Super operator (SOP). An operator who is protected from kicks by other operators. SOPS can also set user lists by which people are automatically oped/voiced on join. A superoperater is automatically protected (means they cannot be kicked) so on entry you will see:
« mode » {ChanServ} sets {+oa Syphon Syphon}
In this case +o for the ops, and +a for protection.
@ - Operator (OP). They maintain control and generally administer the channel. On join you will see:
« mode » {ChanServ} sets {+o Syphon}
% - Half-Ops (HOPS). Can kick and ban. However they cannot do anything more advanced. On join you will see:
« mode » {ChanServ} sets {+% Syphon}
+ - Voice. If a channel is moderated, you will need voice for others to be able to see your messages. #mpc is not moderated, and voice is therefore used (as with many other channels) as a status symbol. It is given mainly to ]MpC[ clan members. On join you will see:
« mode » {ChanServ} sets {+v Syphon}
Fourth:
«00:47:42» « Syphon using omega.rizenet.org {RizeNET}
This means I am connected to the omega.rizenet.org server on the Rizenet network.
Fifth:
«00:47:42» « Syphon has been idle 37secs {signed on Sun Jun 22 19:59:41 2003}
Well this is pretty self explanetory. It means I have not been active in the mIRC window for 37secs and I signed onto IRC on Sun Jun 22 19:59:41 2003.
Channel modes:
We covered user modes already, now lets look at channel modes:
