HL hangs on 2nd connection

hey guys, im on winXP pro and presently use opengl loader v1.1, and whenever i disconnect from a server and try to join another server from the server list, HL will minimise to become a black 640x480 patch at the top left hand corner of my desktop and hang...........
*sigh* this happens even when i previously use ogc, and its FREAKING ANNOYING to quit HL and open it again just to join another server..........

any flames would be gladly appreciated ;)

This happened...but instead of exiting...it just would freeze before initializing and downloading....and stay there...and then disconnect...and i had to restart hl before i could join again...1.5 fixed that problem for me however...hl does crash periodically....for no reason...i dont know though..maybe someone with a little more experience could help.

i have a slightly similar issue- my hl (when i play DoD only) just kills my whole comp when i leave a server or get kicked and try to join another one. DoD has no VAC, so this type of stupid thing should not happen.

I'm on XP Pro as well and I get the same problem. These new updates suxx0r! Almost every time I leave a server and try to join another ... half-life crashes like 80% of the time. At least I'm not the only one.. i'm not using the hl loader though.. i'm playin legit and its still borked. :(

Same thing almost has JUST started happening to me.... like yesterday, I think they must have implemented some new code mabe, I try to join a server with my jOOls and no go get to the motard and screech it hangs so hard only recourse is hit reset button *Ouch* I'm back to "nophun" again ack grrrr LOL ^sigh^
Oh well it was fun rulin the mobs while it lasted.... Nothin like seein yer name at the top of a looooong list 31 peeps under ya woohoo dont even fit on the page LooL!!!

*UPDATE* It's possible I got a VIRUS from Valve or the server I was on, not certain.... I hope I'm wrong... but it seems to be the case, I was playing on a HLDM server and game begins a new dance.... it's entering fine with the jOOlz 1.1? but crashing to my desktop at round end and occasionly giving "illegal op" warnings.
I played 3-4 rounds and on the 4th crash to desltop HL refuses to start..... your HL .exe has been modified... Oh O.... I hope I'm wrong but I scanned just before I began playing and came out clean.... with all the wierd crap that is happening it tends to make me think there may be some underhanded tactics involved. Ive experienced a software maker using a Virus in the past, sure hope Valve hasn't jumped on the bandwagon.....

i have the same guys yesterday i hat a hang with joolz! I reset i start my ogc again and it couldn't find hl so i think wtf !!! So i check my d drive because there are allt he games and suddenly a message appears and it says This drive is not formatted do you want to format now!! wtf!!!!! I check preferences and i see file system and after it you see fat32 no ntfs no there was a none a ****ing none!! my entire d drive raped all my mp 3 gone!!! this is fishy this new updates sucks like a big fat monkey wish the 1.3 time was there or something like that! Yeah the punkbuster time was nice w00t
