wtf happened to my F1 key?

i bind "buy" to my f1 key, but now when i press f1, an obnoxious box opens and my mouse pointer pops out. when i enlarge the box, it says "HL desktop" with 2 buttons; one of them with "quit HL".......WTF USES THOSE???????? its so much easier to press ` and type quit.......
anyway, is there anyway to disable that?

lol if you read the read me came with the patch it has something to do with some new feature I have no idea other than its something valve has up its sleave and im certain its not good for us......

To be able to use your F1 and F2 keys again: Open up the Valve folder in Half-Life, then open cl_dlls. There should be a file called "GameUI.Dll". Rename it to "GameUI.Bak". Thats all you hav to do. Valve put that in there to use in future versions, so it doesnt affect the game at all.
