:bunny: :bunny: @ I had something new happen today with Half Life.... I had been playing for a few rounds using the jOOlz 1.1 and the same stuff was going on, the delayed starting of the rounds and occasional ejections from the game to my desktop by HL and its new VAC code I think. But something also happened, I hope it doesnt become a habit..... Virus attack!!! My comp was completly clean yesterday I scanned it, clean, no detected viruses. Then after one of the kicks to mt desktops that ended in a "hang" by Half Life upon resetting comp I click on my HL icon and get the dreded "your HL .exe has been modifyed" please scan for virus'es and reinstall Half Life..... Grrrrrr, :( Hmmmm, Okie, fire up scanner NOD32 - very fast virus software... really fast does a 30 gig drive in under 2 minutes! (try that with Norton's) LOL, you'll be a year older before Norton's gets thru...
NOD32, by ESET Software, super fast free demo 30 days! and pretty good protection... Nortons is still best but ya wanna be gray haired before it finishes?:) Anyway, NOD32 Imeaditly begins listing red file names! (red is infected) and not just a few..... I mean tons.... like nearly every file!!! the scrolling scan result log is going at warp speed all in RED!!! OMG I think, wtf?? I right away think its the sofrware..... I download a dos scanner (also free from f-prot) dos scanners are faster than graphical ones! another reason to hate XP! LooL :) and yes indeedy, f-prot confirms what NOD32 said.... massive viri pukage..... grrrr. :( but its easily cleanable, f-prot whipped it out in less than 4 minutes. A total of 14,700 +/- a few files infected in hardly no time? hmmmmmm..... me begins to wonder.... Somtins fishy, I just havent figgured out exactly what.... any ideas welcome.... I dont want to go thru that again, Yes, I know, It never would have happened if I left the Virus protection on at all times, but I don't like doing that and besides it leads to more BSOD's with it on....
Anyone have any similar occurances? Oh, it was called worm32mssm I think thats right, not certain, I can't locate my notes I made! DOH! Oh well, back to restoring the rest of my games and stuff.....Gawd I hate virus writers... don't ever tell me you write bugs.... I'll smak the #@#@@$ outta ya in a heartbeat! and I aint kiddin...... waistin my time with poo like this really pisses me off....... Excuse me.... Sorry for the profane remarks!
:bunny: :cheeky: Aloha, KH:cool:
