game browser disconnects

The cod uo game browser as well as ase causes my internet connection to halt when i use them

i cant join a game or even use internet explorer afer using one of these game browsers.

i have a pppoe connection and have to disconnect and reconnect in order to play or browse the web

but...
if i get a server ip address to a server from the web and join i have no probs

could someone please help me

This is probably a firewall issue. Make sure you do not have Service Pack 2 installed, and if you do, seek the thread that has instructions on removing it.

The only suggestion i would make is get xFire to connect to the games i dont like gamespy because its just a messed up program but xfire is a lot more small, and it looks better :P supports most popular games also...

Xfire has nothing to do with his problem. Um who is your internet Provider and basicly its your firewall or SP2<

:mad: i have norton internet security 2004 and aliant is my isp

i do have sp2 installed .......

the funny thing is that it orked up untill this weekend past

and called the isp......
they dont have a clew

any other ideas

it is annoying
