:( i cant connect to the server...i d/l aceftp and connected to the server and it says that its connecting and all but then it stopes and says "entering passive mode" with bunch of numbers....then few minutes later it disconnects me....what im doing wrong her?!?!?! need help man :(

If your running a firewall which any sensible person should be doing if they are on broadband then the firewall will block incoming packets such as that from FTP servers when you connect to them. That is why some FTP daemons support PASSIVE mode where the FTP server does not directly talk back to the FTP client and cause a 'hang'. Now if like your suggesting he disables passive mode then the FTP server will talk back to his firewall and his firewall will block it and he will get the same symptoms 'a hang'.
If the FTP daemon was from any reputable programmer and supported ftp clients in PASSIVE mode, then nobody would be having these problems huh
