I've seen people saying it's impossible to memory edit the Microsoft XP Pinball game.

Well here it is, I did it.

I don't know where you've heard that it's "impossible to memory edit the Microsoft XP Pinball game". It must be the easiest game to hack next to PacMan ;)
In fact, any offline game is easy to hack since you have controll of both all the inputs and all that outputs :)
Anyways, good work, keep it up! :)

I was reading through the beginners tut for memory editing and I saw lots of complaints about XP Pinball not working, so I tried it.

Anyway the 2 values are:

A4FC72
9547EC

there is a trainer submissions thread.
use it.
btw,
it does not work on my xp system. this is because you will not have used only the memory locations which change in windows xp pinball.
this is why i decided not to write about the xp version in my tutorial as the results are somewhat annoying.

You're right VF... It doesn't work.
My guess is Pinball uses "semi-static DMA" to keep the value of score. The DMA will allways be the same on your computer, but if you run pinball on another computer, the vale of score will not be at the same location.

To solve this you'd have to find the base pointer of the DMA, or find the static address defining the operation adding to the score and set your own value there.

How far? Well, another guy submitted a cheat for pacman (good old days)... next up will be tetris! ;)

Yeah, the Amiga "Pinball dreams"-games... did you know that it's acctually DICE, the creators behind Battlefield series that created many of those pinball games, they ported some to PC but there weren't enough intrested consumers :(
