You need to have steam running when you use this trainer. And you also need to HAVE A LEGAL COPY, which, judging by your logic, you don't have.

By the way, way to bump. Look at my post right above yours, LOL!!

but i get an error with the trainer, it'll hang if i tried loading HL2 with the trainer open :(

This thread was created in 2004. Since then the forum has been updated and old downloads have been removed in the process. The trainer may not even work anymore since it's so old. You could PM bastard© to ask if he has still has it.
