Maphack Tutorial?

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or just give me a basic idea of where I could start in order to make a maphack for RTS games? (Starcraft, Warcraft, etc.)
I'm a beginner/intermediate at ASM and I've got tools such as T-Search and SoftICE I just need to know where to go from here.

I have written a few hacks before for things like gold, wood, exp, etc. but now I want to do a maphack.
Can anyone help me out?
