Hero strategy? And other strategys

I was wondering if you guys had some good Hero strategys
both getting them fast and leveling them up fast. Ever time i seem to play online people are atleast 4 levels above my hero.

Also if you guys had ways of stopping that bloody Elven rush, they send in hunters and archers crippling my base, and when rebuilding after fighting them off they come back with more, a real bitch:mad:
