frontpage is a lot easier to use, but like jojo said, it is more professional oriented and is what most companies use, but if you're just starting out, or if you're looking for ease of use, front page is what you need

well the only book that i could find about dreamweaver is dreamweaver 3... how different is 3 from 4?

well if you know dw3 then it's not a long strech to dw4, of course there will be new features, etc. in dw4 but... the basics are the same and if you know the basics it's not that hard to understand the new features.

I use DW-MX, being a website developer, its kind of a requirement to keep up with all this sh*t macromedia keeps crapping out. I prefer DW-MX over FP cause it a lot better and much more easier to use IMO.
DW-MX is pretty much a huge jump from DW3 because the lay out and structure of the program is totally changed but all the macromedia junk have the same layout for the purpose of a more universal understanding and layout.
So I say, DW-MX definitely.

umm use dreamweaver for now.. its great for beginers and if you constantly have to make a webpage based on a template. But overall. Learn your html. load up that thing in dreamweaver that shows you the code. dreamweaver works great but it adds alot of useless stuff that's not needed. like sometimes if you make something BOLD and then deside not to, it might still leave some of teh HTML to make it bold. just confusing you some if you actually have to manually edit something. so. i begain with dreamweaver. but eventually i began using those color coded html editors.

All these Editors are great, you just need to get used to using their features and then you can create almost anything ;)
wooolF Dreamweaver is great, and quite easy to use just be keen on learning it ;)

Yes.. The difference from 3-4 is that in the characters column the actorss have more abilities than 3 with more edit options etc.. Now with Mx it is just simpler all-around it gives the user a better understanding.. Dreamweaver is kind of a learning point for FLASH have u used flash b4?

in general html editors such as those suck... code it yourself much cleaner the only thing I would use Dreamweaver for maybe is the source formatting

The best html editor is notepad. Until you know how to write the code your self, you don't know how to make websites. It is the truth. I've worked with guys that are like, "I can design a site". But they don't know jack. Because although DM is nice, sometimes you need to do the code your self. My first website I used FP and I realized it sucked. Then my second I used DM which took time to get used to, then my third I forced my self to just use notepad (or something like notepad) and then I realized that I had no idea what I was talking about till I took the time to write it all my self.
So to answer your question....
DM is better than FP
But textpad is better than both.
