Hi Guys,
I haven't bought Half-Life 2 yet and its good to see that it's demo is released. Remember you will require Steam Account to play Half Life 2 Demo. :)

Half-Life 2 by Valve Software - playable demo

By taking the suspense, challenge and visceral charge of the original
Half-Life, and adding startling new realism and responsiveness, Half-LifeŽ 2
opens the door to a world where the player's presence affects everything around
him, from the physical environment to the behaviors even the emotions of both
friends and enemies. The player again picks up the crowbar of research
scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being
picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. Freeman is
thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he
unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people he cares about are counting
on him.

The demo features some of the amazing digital actors and physical gameplay that
has made Half-LifeŽ 2 the leading contender for Game of the Year 2004, the demo
takes players through some of the early levels of the game and later transports
them to the area of the game known as Ravenholm. The demo requires a Steam
account to install.

Guys I am also downloading and it's too big in size. I think the biggest demo ever made till now...not sure...and of course it will take time with 56k
Ok can u guys tell me is it single player or multiplayer ? is it necessary to keep login in steam while playing the game ?

Excellant thanks for the heads up, am glad there is a demo out, I cant afford the retail game at this moment ,but I saving my cash to get it, I had to get my CPL so thats where my cash went to , I will get the demo tonight..:)

had the game....and my brother ****ed up his account. Now theres a gold edition ****ed away. Damn. ****ing some stole the account. How gay is that. Gold edition and now all we have is a Cap and a postcard.

Ouch .. I sorry to hear your account was stolen, How can this Happen? is there some type of CD key stealer out there that can get the account of steam?? And I was curious what does the cap look like? that gold edition is that the 1 that has the t-shirt in it too?

Same with me I can't buy this game right now but it's good to see that they have released the demo. At least I can try it before buying.
I am still downloading it. :ermm:

there r only two short chapters,
cant rember the name but i thinks its the first level, u dont do much in that level except walk around, then the other 1 is level 6 i think where u have that gravity gun.
i love it when u pick ur the circular blade with the gravity gun and cut there heads off.


lol its a big file size for two short chapters but still worth downloading if u havent played it b4.Also good to see if ur computer can handle the game.
i downloaded the demo from ati website or somthing, then still needed updating via steam for some reason,it took quite a long time.

the demo isnt worth the dl wait. first chapter is hl2 when ur in the black mesa. and the other chapter is where u have 3 guns and u can only walk in a 20 by 20 foot room. pretty gay if u ask me.

Just get the full game if you can afford it. It will be awhile before its price is lowered. None the less, it is still one of the best games of all time bar none. You'd be doing yourself an injustice to pass on this one.

Actually I wanted to first see the demo before buying the game. Hopefully it will complete in early morning, 4 days have been passed and I am still download from my old and gold 56k line.
But it's bad that they have not added much in demo which weighs is 751mb. Thx guys for letting me know about the demo levels. I will post my feedback when I will complete the downloading. :)

This demo is amazing, if I didn't play it, I wouldn't go get it. After christmas, its on my to-do :)

It took me 50 minutes @ 250kbps.. Awesome :)

And so far I've been playing for about an hour, maybe more. This is a long demo, I don't see what the other guy says with a 20 by 20 room and 3 guns..

You have the crow bar, magnum, pistol, gravity gun, shotgun, and smg, and grenades so far :)

Great demo, 4 days? that sucks dude.

snowcatxx87 my download got completed todays morning on christmas day and when I opened it was corrupt file and I don't have energy including my old and trusty modem to download it again. :cry:

The demo is 750 mb's :s and u need a steam account, and the demo ends i "Ravenholm"

The Demo has only 2-3 levels.
All easy to beat.
TOok me less than 20 minutes to beat them all.
I have the full version game(yes i bought it) Yeha its pretty much easy alalal.
You should get the game.
Graphics are awesome. With my X800XT new video card the game graphics looks so realistic.

I again downloaded the demo of Half Life 2 Demo. But I really got mental after seeing that it was actually a mutliplayer demo. You have to be online all time to play it. :ermm:

And my 56k can't handle contious connection to steam for playing hl2 demo. :cry:
