why will it not connect

right click hold and move the file to your desktop that always works dbleclk never seems to work for me either so i just hold it and move to my desktop

Or use an FTP client like CuteFTP/wsFTP/FlashFXP/etc...

I'd prefer FTP voyager, it includes heaps of functions including a few buttons to sync, connect to secure servers, having heaps of profiles of many servers and their own setting, asking for accounts and many other things.
