i got half-life 2
i got this computer and it FREEZES, (not freezes but never finishs loadinG)
at the load screen ...the one at the start right after the guy with a VALVE eye
specs: Amd Athlon 64-bit 3000+
1GIG ram..
ATI radeon 9800 pro. 256mb ram
windows xp...
1.5mb internet
if any of u can run it...please post ur computer specs..
or y u think mine doesnt finish loading!

Right... Are you sure that you're not just being impatient? When i used to play hl2, it used to take an eternity to boot into the menu... Just give it 2 or 3 minutes, any longer, and you might need to reinstall...
Internet speed shouldnt matter, Main and Video RAM levels are fine, windows xp is shit IMO but will suffice, processor is fine, only things that might affect the load up time, which you havent mentioned, is your hard drive speed, and not so much, but still a factor; the speed your RAM runs at...

The main menu is an actual 3d environment. It takes a long time to load on my 2ghz machine, so hang in there. It would have been nice if Vavle had an option to turn off the background and just go with a solid image. There might be a tweak out there to turn this off though.

yep...ur right, i was patient and it DID come!
but..its slow
no problem
i lowered the video setting -_-
well thanks...before it was a complete 10 minute load for the menu
with the video setting down..its only .5 minute
