It has been taken over by a new company and now is currently free for beta even though the game is still the same game when it was p2p.

Yes it _was_ P2P.. but now it has been moved to other company...
TKO wouldnt develope it anymore/ or didnt have time for it..so they moved it...
Its going to be patched many times now...

.. Still waiting for those "hacks"/exploits/bugs or whatever could help with exping or other crap ;)
