Invisible name.. ?

I know everyone says alt+0160 but i dont get how to use that... i have tried typing :

name "alt+0160"
name (Holding alt)"0160"

anyone wanna sum this up for me?

Then you see a . instead of an empty space.
You have to do as the_faith01 says. Hold the left alt button and type on your numpad 0 1 6 0
Then let go of alt. It will have placed a fake space now. Ideal to copy names too.
