Just wondering if anyone knows of coloured models for the rest of the default player models (not conbine soilders)? Or if anyone knows how to colour them yourself? I tried using the Model Viewer in the SDK and it doesn't seem to let you export/import textures like the one for HL1. Thanks in advance.

Well, I was talking about the female and male "rebel" models. I wanted to do something like what was done with the combine soilder, pink heads but with probably green bodies. So how do you make them? Do you need a 3d modeling program to do it?
edit: Oh and the police model too.

No, you don’t need a modeling program, although, I’m sure you could find one somewhere that could do the job for you!
Now, what you need to do is get a program called GCFScape, and open the correct GCF "source-materials.gcf"? Can’t remember which GCF you need to open, but they are all located inside your "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps" directory.
Anyway, once you have found the file, you will need to locate all of the models you want to convert, for example, I think one model is called combine_elite.VTF, or something… Now, extract that model to a folder, and convert it to a TGA file. (Incase you ask, no, I don’t have this program anymore, nor can I remember where I obtained it… Your best bet is to use Google, try looking for “VTF2TGA”, I guarantee you will find it within 30 seconds… Now, you will need a program to open the TGA file, and at this point, I would like to say that a TGA is merely a image file, so don’t get all worried about it :P If you have Photoshop, great, load it up, and open the TGA. Now, Im not exactly sure how to create a model with one color for his head, and another for his body, but I do know how to create a model with one color for the whole of his body! So, erase everything inside that image, and fill the canvas with the color of your choice, now, save the file again as a TGA.
Download the application called “TGA2VTF” and reconvert the new TGA into a VTF, go back into GCFScape, and extract the VMT file, in this case, “combine_elite.vmt”. This contains model specific data, that you will need to place in the same folder as the VMT file. Now, go create a folder called "Combine Soldier" in your "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\'account'\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models" folder. Inside this folder, copy the new TGA and VMT files inside this folder, and run HL2DM, now, hopefully, when you see the supersoldier model, he will be a plaincolor model! ;)
If you have any problems, come back and tell me…
Peace…

(PS. Sorry if there are any spelling/grammar/readability errors, I’m a little short on time again… )
