Hi

Is there a way of finding the ip of currently connected counterstrike players? (IF I DO NOT OWN THE SERVER or are ADMIN on the server).

Some guy put a virus on my harddrive... CS directory when he got pissed by killing him too often...

1 Is it possible to detect IP of players?
2 How can he put the virus on my cs directory (he aint the admin of that server

Regards Jim

How are you certain that he was the one that put a virus on your computer? The only possible way to get something uploaded to you via CS if he was not an admin or anything of the kind, would be to possibly upload the virus as a spray file or a neccesary file? Perhaps he knew your ip and hacked your pc? The thoughts are numerous.. Btw, to view information about other users type in console "status" (without ""). Also, there is a method that if you wish to view connections back and forth to your computer and the internet, you can go to Start>>Run>> type command.com and then inside the dos window type in a certain command, but I can't seem to remember it.. If you want it, I will look into it in case I can remember it :)

netstat -a i think..if not a try netstat ?

an easier way, get a packet sniffer/logger, it will log all incoming/outgoing traffic and IP's and whatnot

If he has aim, connect with him, and as fooky said open up command prompt and while he is still connected 2u, do netstat -n , look for the ip with the last numbers :4443 <-- some 4000 number at the end of the ip.

Congrats u got his ip, do what u want.

What I was thinking of is probably he sent you a file via msn, aim, etc. The trojan could be various, from sdbot to subseven and backorifice.

Btw, don't be too happy when you get his ip, make sure that you can do a traceroute to check if it actually has to go through a proxy server then chances are it could be a fake one for that user to fake his real identity.

I suggest that if you have a firewall, try and block off the user's ip address. If you do not have a firewall, get a decent firewall and block off any suspicious ports.
