It turns out that this is the truth, slowly, slowly all the good sites are being eaten away by money hungry people. First it was IGN which was an awesome site with the best content, and now gamespot.com the second best video gaming site. I don't know any more Free gaming info sites, yes yes they both offer free content but the good stuff isn't free anymore :(. GameSpot.com is the world's leading provider of game-related online content and services and--as of August 1, 2002--incorporates all of the European gaming news, reviews, and features (including football and Formula 1) that have made GameSpot UK Europe's gaming site of choice for so many of you since its launch in 1997.

As a reader of GameSpot.com, you will have access to the site's full range of free content for 30 days after it's posted. In addition, certain content such as features, review scores and excerpts, pricing information, reader reviews, and hints and tips will always be available for all games at no charge. After 30 days, content generated by GameSpot's new European bureau will be seamlessly integrated into "GameSpot Complete," a value-added, fee-based offering that provides a range of premium services in an advertisement-free zone. In a continuing cycle, free content will transition to GameSpot Complete after 30 days and be replaced with fresh, free content. If you choose to subscribe to GameSpot Complete, you will have full access to archived news, product reviews, product demos, and screenshot galleries, as well as the site's comprehensive library of more than 4,000 hosted, "speedy" video game downloads and 9,000 streaming video files.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you (almost 800,000 at last count) for your support over the past four-and-a-half years, and if you've enjoyed reading the site half as much as the team has enjoyed producing it, I'm confident that you'll feel right at home at GameSpot.com--I'll see you there!
