Nice site/forums you have here, guys. I just registered and I've been browsing around, trying to understand what everyone here is talking about, and I'm still confused on some things. Before I start, I have looked through a lot of threads here, including the "read here before posting" faq and DJ JERO's intro guide to hacking (sadly, I couldn't get pacman to run at all on my computer- I kept getting some sort of error) and I'm still confused. =\
This is the information that I've pieced together so far:
With the program TSearch (http://www.mpcdownloads.com/_mpc_d0wn_h4x_/Maple%20Story/MS%20TSearch_FIX.zip, if I'm not mistaken), you can look through some of the code while Maple Story is running and edit certain values to achieve different effects, such as faster hp/mp recovery, invincibility (by keeping your character flashing at all times), speed attack, etc.
1. Is this still effective? I think the last topic I read about this was dated in December or something, so things (a patch possibly) might have changed since then.
2a. If you do change the values to get these effects, will they be permanent, or do you have to change them everytime you run MS?
2b. If they are permament, would it be wise to create a copy of the MS directory so you don't screw up the original exe?
3. What does it mean to "freeze" a certain value when using TSearch?
4. Is it easy to get caught using TSearch or auto-fight scripts or hacks (such as jump hack, gravity hack, etc)?
5. What exactly is a "bypass?" The faq lists how to obtain one, but I'm still not sure what it is. Is it some sort of protection that allows you to run hacks on MS without fear of screwing up your program?
I went to MPC downloads and checked some of the "hacks" out, but they seem to either be outdated or not apply to me (jump hacks or autograbbers, etc). As of now, I'm looking for a way to regain hp/mp faster, and possibly a script to fight baddies while I'm afk, either with a Mage or some other character, if it isn't possible with a Mage. I'm not sure how the scripts would work with magic spells.
Phew, quite a first post, eh? I apologize if this is all common knowledge that I can't seem to find for some reason on the forums. I did check out the stickied threads and I have used the search function, yet I still find myself a bit lost on the whole matter. Many thanks to anyone who can offer any assistance.
