^^ LOL we will be waiting for that also then.

It will be availible on cdrom and dvdrom, kinda like quite a few games in the past(farcry comes to mind). Problem is we do not know if there will be a multi-player demo before full game release. They did not have such release for bfvietnam. Last I checked too, game was still 2 monthes away(june release). When bf2 does get released, I expect we will add a subforum for it. Hopefully that will wake up these forums some.

When battlefield2 comes out it will dwarf css in comparison, i just hope the new voice communication feature wont be as bad as css. Its pretty sad that they couldn't update the voice support in css, so i hope in Battlefield2 we get crispy clear voice support. :lick:

I can't wait to hack it either! ;)

Hopefully they havn't learnt too much from their previous mistakes in the BF series.

They didn't in css and i'm sure they wont have anything to difficult for the elite hackers here to overcome.

Well I dont know about css, but I do know that bf2 voice support is going to be using VoIP protocol so it should be pretty crisp.

what do you think the new hacks will be like once bf2 comes around? will there just be the standard hacks (maphack, no fog, ect) or will aimbots be possible with this new engine?

Spontaneous
5th April 2005, 08:51
Its not so much a new engine but the engine redone. Aimbots are already possible using DX hacks but there are no public released ones(none ever got released). By the looks of the videos, you can expect most of the normal hacks. With PB being included with the game like it was with bfvietnam, you can expect only non-pb hacks to be released. I might work on a non-pb hack based off of my Omega v1 source(you can expect most of the options availible in Omega).

May be slightly off topic, but the CompSci course im enrolled in is currently teaching how to program in Java, do you think it would be possible to do SEH & .dll injection in Java?

Spontaneous

doubtful, but then again I dont know know java at all

hi guys! ;)

http://bf2.ca/serverstatus/ --> follow this server tracking engine and see how DICE progresses with BF2. The last time they reached a lot of new builds, currently they are at "vBF2 build 0.1.2241.0".

A multiplayer demo will definitely be released and the developpers are aiming for a release until the end of this month! - this is neither speculation nor a rumour, this is what DICE said in an interview in the german game magazine "PC Games". And if you observe the test servers, you see that they are already doing press previews on there, so really its no more that far away...so well :D:D

@Spontaneous: Wrong, BF2 has an all-new engine. And if I were you, I wouldnt just create a new subforum, since this game is gonna be a whole new thing, unlike BFV, which was more like an add-on (almost identical engine etc...) - btw, thats the reason why they never released a demo for it. If they did, a lot of people wouldnt have bought the full game which is bad for EA - if you ask the community about BFV, almost everyone says "The game sucks!" - me included.

I'll expect a release near my birthday if its due in June. My birthday is in November. Everyone is expecting huge leaps with BF2. You got all your DC loving n00bs aquiver with more vanilla servers converting to DC every week. For why I'm not sure, I cant see it giving you a major advantage. You may as well play BFPirates if you wanna reduce the learning curve till BF2 comes out.
It should be a completly different feel and if its not (which judging by the vids and interviews its not) a hell of a lot of people will be gutted.
DC is a cool mod but a bit pooh. Who wants to pay for a polished mod after all?
Nah IMHO stick with BF42 and go for the FH mod. The game that shoulda been BF2.
And wheres the demo? if its gonna be explosive there shoulda been a demo by now. After all we are well past the first announced release date (end March).
Dont hold your breath peeps

There were no other announcements than that officially from DICE. If you believe in speculation (like end of March), then its your problem.
Again this ("probably end of April") is the first demo release time range DICE told us.

And btw, DC has nothing to do with BF2, Trauma (DC developpers) didnt even participate in BF2 development...they probably will come up with some BF2 engine based game in the future, thats all.

They are 100% feature-complete for some time now already and all they do is optimizing and bug-fixing. The game is already playable which was shown at the BFCon here in Germany and everyone I asked said that this game rocks everything away...
Well this time, really, I know that this game will top it all off just due to the fact that its from DICE Sweden - I believe in those guys, they do some very excellent work.

legion2 user
6th April 2005, 21:44
of course I hope it is as good as they say, and for sure I hope its released soon , not November. I read today that they have had it running on servers for final testing. And I agree DICE Sweden are an optimum team for the job. But I cant help but feel that a summer release is bad marketing and for sure EA holds all the cards on that one.

finally from this site;- http://www.bf2.be/index.php?id=270

Q. How much, if any, input has Trauma Studios (DC) had in the programming of BF2?
A: Trauma Studios worked with the BF2 development team early in the project to help prototype the Commander Mode system. The Trauma guys were great to work with. In fact it worked out so well that DICE ended up buying Trauma After that a handful of Trauma Studios engineers transferred to Stockholm to work on the project directly for several months.

@test0r, I read many of forums about what PC Games has put in the megazine and remember reading that DICE was misquoted several times in PC Games. Unless it comes from an offical dice website, I wouldnt trust the info.

legion2 user, All the bf games and many hit games came out in the summer in the past. Doom3 was an april 1st release last year. BFVietnam around the same time. Also I read and watched interview videos sayying that Trauma Studios had NO involvement what so ever with any current BF projects(it was rumored they helped with BF2 and BFModernCombat, but the interviews say no they didnt). As I just told test0r, unless it comes directly from a dice offical site or interview video, I would not trust the info given out. There has just been too many rumors and info that went around too all the bf2 fan sites that it is too hard to tell what is truth and what is not.

The only thing I know for sure is that the sweden government paid for the rights of bf2 to use in their training. That info comes directly from DICEs site.

im learning in java, too. i do know there is a way to read the memory addresses and possibly right to them, i do not know the exact method of doing so. java does have the capabilities to hack, but i do not know how to get it to interact with the windows OS properly.

hm, I wonder where you read comments about "PC Games", since this is a german magazine... Also they are serious and established, so I dont think they'd just put in shit (wouldnt be that good if EA reads that) - they interviewed DICE and got this info from them.

Its almost sure that the demo isnt far away anyway. End of april would be ~2 months to BF2 release, and this was about the same with BF1942.
Also, have you read this - http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/battlefield-2/598743p2.html ?
"Pretty soon you won't need to go to an old aircraft hangar in Germany to play BF2. You'll be able to play the demo in your own home." - "Pretty soon" is not farther away than one month, is it? :D

btw, here is something I found about PB for BF2 :): http://www.punkbuster.com/downloads/bf2/

I agree, you can't believe everythingyou read. An excited gamer and and an expectantoneat that , in a community just itching to get into the next evolution, will believe mostly everything he is fed in hishuntfor the latest info.... myself included. Its hard to sit back and not make comment on the subject , especiallywhen every server is alive with the topic too!
Apologies if my post seemed slightly off tone

Hello all (for a long time),

There are some very interesting possibilities for new cheats in BF2.

For example in the "Commander" mode a player can see enemy movements from satelite and call artillery strike and/or guide own troops to caunter them. Hmm... ;)

Also the commander can drop ammo-supply etc. to players in own team.

Camera-guided missles (mavericks?) from airplanes are interesting (Weapons-officer can guide the missle).

Plus there are much more... (the map in this alpha is little too small for comprehensice testing).
Also the game looks much nicer. The pressure-effect for explosions are nicely implemented. The damn IT-missles are frigging fast.

Gotta report more when I have some time to play & explore more.

Heres a new in depth video of Battlefield2 that will blow you away at the sheer detail, and work they put into this game. In this video it shows you an entire map and even a flight ship carrier which looks amazing so enjoy!

NOTE: suddenly i have to buy a new x800xt lol.

Unfortunately that video only provides some slight impressions about how the game feels played. In case it didn't come out from my post I based my experiences for the game - not video. ;)

Where from? I mean, are you an admin/news poster of the sites receiving BF2 preview versions these days - or what?

Nothing like that mate. It's not the [limited] preview-version for sites.
I have a friend "inside" who is helpful.
