for example i have an avatar 256x256 pxls. how can i resize it to 120x120 in adobe photoshop 8.0 and save it with that size?

Simply go to "Image/Image Size" and put your settings there.

Then, save (Shift+Ctrl+S/Ctrl+S).

it wont look as good because it will look condenced

oh yeah!! by saying condance do you mean it will not be as smooth as it was? same thing happens when you zoom out the pic right? is there any way to make it smoother? maby i should use another program? thanks..

You can resize a picture to something smaller and it will look good (well as good as anything looks tiny!). However, trying to make it bigger will pixelize it.

Photoshop is the best for imaging, I doubt you can find something better for what you want to do.

Do what joQe suggests.
