Anyone can tell me how to delete my web cache of downloaded files on internet explorer? Im running internet explorer 6.0 on Windows XP and I use a Norton Protected recycle bin. Also dont files still stay on your comp after you delete them from recycle bin? How do I get rid of those. Thanks guys its a big help.

1. Click on the Tools menu at the top of IE
2. Click Internet Options... (if this is restricted, just right-click on the internet explorer icon on ur desktop and click properties, its the same thing.)
3. Under the General tab (default tab) there's a category called Temprorary Internet files. Click on the button that says Delete Files. A menu should come up and click the checkbox that says "Delete all offline content." Click OK.

Now the process will take a few minutes, depending on how many files are in there and how fast ur computer is.

BTW: Yes they do stay on unless you delete files from your recycle bin, but you can also single click on an icon you want to delete, and dont just push the del key, push shift+Delete and it will delete the file permanently

BTW if you want to clean out your norton protected files, right click on the recycle bin and select "empty norton protected files"

sorry I have no idea where they're stored but.. I can tell you this all they are are files that you deleted or temp files that windows automatically deletes, it is perfectly safe to delete them right before you shut down your PC unless you deleted a file that you want back in that case you have to use the norton wizad to get that file back.
oh btw that folder is prob a hiden or tem folder just leave it alone it's not taking up any space and it won't do any harm to leave it there, with win 98 the best thing to do is not to change around much ;)

Rookie-1 Try right click on recycle bin and click on empty norton protected files.

For the IE thingy, you can also set in IE to clear IE temps in the advanced tab, you will see it, its near the bottom. You can also get third party tools to automatically clear them if you want.
