you can open .u files with the windows text editor. you have to get past all the machine characters then near midway of the file you will see plain text.

dont feel bad i got a noob ? too, how do you make a path for the .u file in the ravenshield.ini back to the .u file if you place it out side of the drive rvs is created? i tried putting an entry in the path thingy under core.core or whatever but my game freezes up wont play?
Just use a path that's already there for you.

Well reason i ask is someone i know might have gotten around cvar checks i wont mention any names however i havent been able to get a .u to work on my system to check out whether or not they can be detected using this method. When i use rr6game.u i change the player console to what it needs to be and i put the .u outside of folder into a diffirent drive then go under paths and show path=f:\cdex\rr6game.u when i run the game it freezes after the lil video clip? is that the correct way to post the path. Cause i see the others one say Path=..\*.blah blah??
LMAO how do you run it from your cd drive? you need the ervs cd to play :D

silvertar,about the paths.
it's the extension that you have to type
by example in ur standing it should be Paths=F:\cdex\*.u

Everyones CD drive is not the same on every machine, i have 2 hardrives with 200 gig between the two in multiple partitions. Tehre fore i have multiple drive letters.
thats posted underneath core.core or whatever that is ?? and on the ravenshield.ini? And say you bypass the cvar check will whitelist still get you for finding the .u in the system folder?
