Since GunZ lacks the functionality of a window mode I wrote a couple of hooks and implemented it myself.

The only bug so far is that in Win9x/Me it won't run in an actual "window" it'll be border less and etc.

I knew I had seen that photo somewhere else

nice tool, I wanted to do a windower for gunz but know barely nothing about directx, so I ended up just using an external tool (dxwnd)
so thanks for the source

Delete hAxWindower.cfg and try again

i only played the game once, it's fun and easy, 1 problem is the servers are always full, you need to be lucky to get in, now that people started hacking it, i just redownloaded the game.

Wouldn't it be easier to go into config.xml and change this line:
<FULLSCREEN>TRUE</FULLSCREEN>
to
<FULLSCREEN>FALSE</FULLSCREEN>

Or would that not work for some reason? I haven't tried it yet.

Here are some tips for using mah windower:



All I have to say is PLEASE redownload it if you downloaded it with in the first day of release, I think it's an older version where I recently fixed a bug that was keeping it from working with alooot of people... so if you're having problems, first thing first download from http://hax-studios.net or direct link: http://hax-studios.net/projects/fritz/GunzWindower.rar



DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILES TO THE GUNZ DIRECTORY



Make sure the hAxWindower.exe, APIHook.dll and D3D9.dll are all in the same directory, but once again do not place them in the GunZ directory.



If you get errors, check the user-defined location of the Gunz.exe and correct it... if it still doesn't work, try closing the window launcher, then delete hAxWindower.cfg and try again.



And once again if it still fails to work, go to your GunZ directory and look for a mlog.txt file and e-mail it to me at fritz [at] hax-studios.net or post it here.

well...i am using 1028 x 768 desktop...when i press the windowed mode...it has no changes.....it gives me my desktop resolution....no windowed mode...can help?

You guys... This program works. Just make sure the .cfg has the right path to your original gunz.exe file. For example, GunZPath=C:\Program Files\MAIET\Gunz\Gunz.exe. I hope this helps.

Another tip: If you have XFire, close it first.

The windower uses whatever resolution is set in the GunZ options.
