This all is kinda useless. The timelimit can be fixxed by editting 1 line in a file. No server is going to have the bandwidth or cpu/memory to handle above 64 players. The removing movies, well that is ok I guess but should be able to be done by adding to the command line of the short cut.

lol, u misunderstood me fella. the first 2 download links worked, it was the last 2 that didn't, the website said hotlinkin not allowed. not sure what our rulin is about external download links, if its a problem then a mod will delte them. but i downloaded them and scanned them, they were clean. so if u want put them back, i'm sure either spart or spont will decide whether to keep them or not.

if outside linking to files were not allowed, I would have spoke up sooner in this matter. I understood scruie as the hosting site for the last 2 links didnt allow outside links to files. You are more then welcome to repost the links.

Can you make a movie remover for the full version ?
not sure, but this works for all other Bf games so might work in BF2.
right mouse click on the Bf2 desktop shortcut nad goto properties, then add +restart 1 at the end of the line; exmaple from bf1942
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1
what this does is take u striaght to thew screen where u pick ur player name. give it ago and if doesn't work just delete the +restart 1.

Can you make a movie remover for the full version ?
Why?
1st) The movies are great. (in full version)
2nd) just open your BF2\mods\bf2\Init.con, and set for every "1" an "0", so you can abort the movies @loading - delete/rename the movies folder.
Just delete the movie folder and your done.

-exactly.
But if you delete the init.con, or every sinle line in it, the game will say on connection a a server "you files have bee tamprered with, please reinstall" or s.t. like that..

scruie, I dont believe the +restart 1 works with BF2. I know it worked in all the older BF games tho.

Confirmed - the +Restart 1 switch does nothing for BF2, the easiest way is just to rename the movies folder in /mods/bf2 .
The +menu 0 switch will stop the movies from playing behind the ingame menu should you wish.

bugger...that switch saved so much un-necessary loadin time. hate bein forced to watch the same movies over'n'over...
another thing, is it for both demo and retail?
CaptainCox
22nd June 2005, 19:41
Yea but in the retail its a proper intro film, pretty cool realy but yea anoying in the long run so....DELETED ;) And if you get bored with the menue films, just get somet cool of the net , and convert it to bink using Bink Smacker and pop it in the movie folder and rename it to"menu"

even if u either rename or whatever to rid yourself of the main movie, ur still left with a long wait until the game loads proper, correct?
thing i like about the +restart is if/when kicked for 2mins via PB or vote-kicked out of server (votetards really p. me off) u could changed ip, load BF and go back into server in aboout 30secs... sounds sad but does save some time... and has the added bonus of p1ssin off the votetards, especially as they don't understand how u did it!

Just letting you all know that the max player edit is usefull for amazing single play as well. Play maps with 150 bots is insane and mega fun!
