Hey guys ,

I was running a 100 player server with weapons unlocked and no time limit for bf2 demo. The server was almost full 24/7 until yesterday that it got removed from the browser list. I did a little search on the net and found out other servers, which were using unlocked weapons/no time limit mod, got removed from the list too. We asked EA about it on their official forum, but they just said we have nothing to do with that and we will check . We all know they're lying . Anyways , is there any way to prevent them from unlisting us? I got 1 more unbanned IP address and I really love to host 100 player server for you guys because it's so much fun playing with other 99 players . Any help would really be appreciated.

I Would Personnaly not put the words in the title what they do is filter the words time and unlocked or weapons so only say they have no time and all weapons on forums or something instead of on BF2 Hope i helped:)

Why is it I doubt this. First of all, not many connections and computers would be able to handle 100 players smoothly. They added the 64 player limit for a reason. But I wouldnt doubt EA removing you from the server list for several reasons. First of all, you had to hexedit exes in order to allow the 100 player limit. This breaks the EULA and your license to play the game. Then your allowing no time limit which is surpose to be in the demo, which also breaks the EULA for the demo. By all means they have the right not to allow you to play even the demo single player or multiplayer anymore. These are the reasons I was worried about allowing such things to even be mentioned on the forums.

Just goes to show you the risk of doing things like this. If you dont want the other IP to be banned off the server listing, RUN IT LEGITLY!

with all due respect to you, this is supposed to multiplayer cheats forum, and I do understand that know one wants to give out info that will totally screw people but all the info given on this site could do just that....I say "it's not the gun that kills it's the person holding it." Let em do what they will and learn the hard way... Although any info given that could get a permanent ban should have a warning, for us nOObs anyway.

Well our server is running no timelimit, weapons unlocked, and I'm working on changing a few other things and we weren't banned. I don't mean to be a **** but if you were stupid enough to actually put No Timelimit in your name (which I can almost guarantee you did) maybe you should have been banned. As Spontaneous said, they made the demo have a timelimit for a reason and removing it is one thing, advertising that you hacked their software in your server's name is another.

so true kinda like when some Bf servers advertised they were crack'd and what-not. some ppl never learn.

Alot of the settings for time and whatnot are in the .con files, so I doubt that is what got anyone banned, if I rememeber correctly, unlocking the weapons requires editing some major file so that is more then likely what got servers shut down.

I think, it's your own fault, as mentioned above...

If i had such a server, i wouln't report it to th masterserver anyway, just put the IP to some forum or whatever, so that only "leet" players have access ;)
If you really put the "NoTimeLimit/MaxPlayer" thingy in the server's description, it's stupid enough. But the afterwards complaining 'bout that, is a bit m0re s7up1d
I'm for "CLOSED"

Yes, but i dont think that they filter these things, possibly they have a software that searches the Server Configs for "unnormal" things :ermm:

Unlocking the weapons is just as simple as disabling the time limit. It's making your server more than 64 players that requires editing "some huge file" and some hex editing as well.

Oh, I thought it required more then that... maybe I should go back and look at my configs some more.

Ok I am going to say my comments on this.

I was doubtful about allowing the time limit info being posted as it works like a crack in a way. Cracks are illegal. Its just the nature of it. Getting rid of a time limit that is surpose to be there really is a no no and has nothing to do with cheating.

Same goes for the larger player limit then 64 players. This involves editting exes. That is an even bigger no no. One reason MPC has stayyed safe from being sued is because all our hacks are loaded into memory, not hard coded into hacks of the exe. Lucky no one has posted a hacked .exe because it would not be allowed.

The unlocking weapons is like the one of the 3 that I would allow no problem. Thats not something that I see being a problem.

Now you know how I feel on these subjects so you know where not to go with things in these forums.
