i got my router right and heres what i got so far

I connected it to my DSL

I have 2 computers: Main and Secondary

I have my MAIN computer online (connected, can chat, surf the net, etc_

But my secondary is the problem...they are both running xp

I know waht the problem is but i cant fix it

here i go, hopefully u guys can understand

On my main, i had to install firmware and stuff so on command i typed ipconfig/release

everything was at 0.0.0.0

and once i typed ipconfig/renew

i was online

for my secondary computer i did the same thing

ipconfig/release

my ip was something like 169.blahblahblah

and when i ipconfig/renew

i got some error about dhcp server

anyone know what i can do, i know for sure that if i can get the ip to release to 0.0.0.0 everything will be fine

thanks for your cooperation

Routers a pain to setup if you don't read the manual. If you have two pcs, Why not connect one computer to another and then route from the one that can go online which is connected to the DSL modem and another pc to the pc that is the gateway? All you need is another nic card.
