Execute a file?..

Hey guys. Im new to the whole battlefield scene so i dont know this...but some of your probably will.

Is there a command to execute a file while ingame. Like placing a file inside the main bf2 folder and then going ingame and typing a command to execute it.

I already tried 'exec filename' but that didnt work. Any help wuold be greatly appreciated.

im going to guess you are an old UT or TO player lol. I haven't found a command like that yet, but really haven't been looking either.

actaully ive coming from Americas Army....'exec filename' is the command in that game....hehe

I also looked through the Guide at www.tweakguides.com. I only looked brifly, but didnt see anything.

not hack releated, directly anyways, so i am guessing this will get closed. i don't know of any command in the console but do a search on the net for console commands maybe

Well depends whats in that file Tom is trying to acitvate if its hack related or not ;). I also never come across this method or eaven gone down that path.

and its a .cfg file. Now bfore you say.. "wtf kinda hack can be in a .cfg file"...ull find out if i ver find out how to execuate a file from ingame, or edit some files so the file is automatically loaded into game when the bf2.exe is started.

gamelogicinit.con has the command:
run Common/FreeCamera/Object.con

so I'd say try "run whatever.con" in one of your profile's con files and see if you have any joy.

i need to put in it my 'BF2 demo\profiles\local\default' directory.

or in my 'C:\My Documents\Battlefeild 2 Demo\profiles' directory

(for those of you that dont know, the second driectoy i posted is automatically created on install and your username and pass info is in there as well as other stuff)

.con files are only executed at game launch and map load. You won't be able to load one after the fact.

In BF:V and BF:42 you have the exec command

And the config files are .con

You would just type 'exec file.con'
