Jamil from EA had some interesting things to say about cheating and the fact that it is happening within the first week of it's release appauls me, but I am not suprised. Cheating has been around for many years and its good to know counter-measures are allready being put it place such as Counter HACK and now EA will join the fight.
(there is of the cheat here)

So, it appears that some of the cheats which are being distributed online work...but none are working very well.
Accuracy Hack - this removes deviation when you move. But it doesn't impact gameplay all that much. You still have to lead your targets.
Speed Hack - doesn't work. The client thinks it works...but the server doesn't register it.
Fog Hack - doesn't work. But editing your video settings does work.
Wall Hack - Not very effective...only shows particle effects through buildings. You could see some vehicles...but not very well.
Iffin' you could let people know that we're watching the cheats and we'll definitely adjust the game with patches to counter them.
Also,
If someone's key is being used online, ie. It was hacked, then they can contact Tech Support…PROVE they own the game, and they'll be given a new number.
We're actively going after people who distribute the cracked game and people who host cracked servers. We are capturing data on all of them.

I will be shocked if EA actually gets someone arrested for distributing the cracked game.
If EA cared at all, then why can anyone play with an illegal copy of MOHAA online ? There just trying to scare people..pfff :bunny:
However i do like how major websites like bfcentral OPENLY show the hacks, that just helps people find them and makes the problem bigger then at first(LOL!)

Yep.. there's nothing as it seems.
Too bad the US Government is as much for EA as against them. They can only pursue so far.. and that's really only with actual businesses.. but personal cracked servers.. g'luck on stopping them and not infringing privacy.

thats right, they cant get you for that , because your ISP is not allowed to give out the data (what IP belonged to what person on what time)

EA might not be able to get dirrect information on someone from an ISP (Without adequate reason) at the moment, however, there is always a chance this could change... The master server cannot "currently" be claimed ONLY for paid customers, since, the DEMO can accress it. If this changes though, or, key checking is added for the running of a server (Would definately reduce the number of servers as well), then, hosting of a rogue server on their master would potentially be considered illegal. If this were to happen, then, information could be requested from your ISP, and they'd be obligated under law to assist EA.
There is also another thing that has to be considered though... Anyone hosting a server is providing a "free service" to EA, because of this the whole concept of persuing someone for hosting a server is unlikely.

Well i acctully bought the game ones because its crappy to play games that require a key to play and you using a backup :bandit:
But anyway i bought the game and when i buy a game i most of the time register it because you never know if your key is going to be hacked now a days so i fill in the darn form and came to the conclusion hey where the F*CK is holland i could only choose something like 6 diffrent country`s but mine was not there :ermm:
WTF so i cant register the damn game then what do i have to do then send a goddamn letter informing i bought the game hell with that if my key gets hacked and they wont give me a new one i going to drop a goddamn bomb EA (have to figure the bomb part out first) EA has a neck for ruining a game complety to if it does not make enough money they abbandon it like with C&C renegade EA decided that it did not made enough money and ordered westwood to begin working harder on earth and beyond and stoped funding Renegade now on the european server only a hand full server excist because the game is dead thx to EA what will happend if EA bought up valve software i think the next gen CS of Halflife is going to be screwed over EA may be the largest and biggest company in the game industry but only want to see money sigh..
