i dont recognize the slightest difference in graphics when it is enable or disabled so whats the deal about it?

I say only this as you dont specify what HW you have, I am pretty shure it has to do with your graphcard, but as said, you dont specify that so who knows, ask in the BF2 TECH section , and use the link in our BF2 Technical Problems Sticky to get there.
