OK , someone might know how to do this. I wanna have bf2 running 2 times at the same time. I have dual monitors and I can put one running windowed copy of bf2 on 1 monitor and I wanna beable to run another copy and run it on the other monitor.
So I can have 2 guys with different nicks/accounts on the same server

there must be a more simple/effective way to cheat ;) but i haven't tried this yet. i don't know, if both games can use the d3d interface at the same time. the second thing is, if you'll start bf2 a second time, it surely closes again, after detecting itself in memory. so you'll have to debug this...

Not just that, both would be unplayable. One copy takes up so much cpu/memory/gpu power. Running 2 copies, your most likely to get 10 frames per second or less. Then to top it all off, you will not be able to play online unless you have 2 cdkeys, since you will get a cdkey in use error. Then you got the problem that p3n1 mentions of it closing itself. Plus if your doing this to gain ranks, EA has already reset a couple peoples points to 0 for use such a stat stacking like that.

1, the demo dont have ranked servers. 2, you would still run into most of the problems I mentioned.

regardless of whether possible or not. why would u want to do this, whats the benefits?

I could see the benefit of doing this on ranked servers to stack rankings. Pretty much was mentioned at UC. Many ways of doing it. Have 1 account for gaining ranks and 1 for just dieing. Pretty much you have 1 account keep spawning while the other keeps killing the other guy to gain points, thus improving your ranks. Or get 3 guys going, 1 guy for killing and the other 2 on the same team reviving each other as a medic. But as I said, EA has already reset a couple peoples accounts to 0 points for doing such a thing.

Basically I wanted it for a spawn point on carrier. I got 2 copies to sorta run at the same time. I made a new shortcut on my desktop for a windowed mode and left my normal fullscreen one. Then I right clicked on normal one , went to properties , advanced and checked the box where it said "run with different credentials" and ran that with a different user account on this computer. The second instance started , but then i got a debug error about my mouse. Im trying this on the demo version of them game before I move over to the full.
Cdkeys are not a problem , I got a couple and a changer :) And no they are not keys from a keygen. I went to walmart and bought a copy and then bought one at ebgames , brought them home , made an exact copy with alcohol120 and wrote down both cdkeys. Then I returned them and said my computer "could not run it" lmao.
I remember for the game Diablo , someone made a program that let you launch it 2 times or more.

Either store gave me 0 problems. I returned them both within an hour. I just walked and said said it would not install , I want my money back. Ive done this lots of times. CS , Quake , UT. I can remember one store gave me a hassle , sears , and they gave me a gift card. I went and bought a digital camera on the card , and took IT back a couple days later and got the cash :)
But enough off topic crap.
Someone help me figure this out . . . . .

Has nothing to do with dual monitor support.

That would defeat the whole purpose of my thinking. But anyway , I tried it and no , it wont work.

well its worth a try. not having a lan myself, hacking is tiresome with only 1 pc (tags anyone?). i suggest you to try creating another admin account on your computer, then create a shortcut that will launch the runas command with bf2 and its parameters and the admin account u created. then you'll see :)
